Babel[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you have Babel on your userpage, and that you also added a few of the templates on the hrwiki pages. Would you be at all interested in helping us set up some babel content here? Thanks --Duke33 11:43, 9 Feb 2006 (CST)

Well, all I have on my user page is a copy of the table form that I have at the top of my HRWiki page. I forget who helped me with that. I think it might have been Lapper, but I'm not sure. If you want it as a bunch of individual templates like on Wikipedia, I can do that. I still need to see what was deleted in the famous (or infamous) "Great New Year's Userbox Purge". If I poke around for a while, I can probably learn the way AtionSong set it up at HRWiki, so sure I'll do it, just as long as you're not looking for HTML tables. Other thatn what's used in MediaWiki and UseMod text formatting, I know absolutely no HTML whatsoever. MediaWiki templates and copying and pasting from ones on Wikipedia I can do.
What sort of boxes do you want? — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 13:55, 9 Feb 2006 (CST)
I could probably copy over some of the templates how hrwiki has them set up (i'm sure they won't mind). I probably just need help designing some of the colors, and content of the individual components. --Duke33 14:12, 9 Feb 2006 (CST)
Believe me, we won't mind. (I say "we" because I'm very active there.) Let's get started! — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 14:55, 9 Feb 2006 (CST)
I've made some tweaks, and copied over the "reverts vandalism" babel. I decided to go along a slightly different route, and make each babel box its own template. This way, you could do a search, for example, to see what all users have the 'revert vandalism' box on their page. What do you think? Take a look at my page, for an example.
I like that. On Wikipedia, most babel templates automatically put a user in a specific category for it. Either way is fine with me. I'll set up the page for it. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 10:04, 13 Feb 2006 (CST)
I see you already have. In that case, I'll just copy over what I've got and add a delete notice to the subpage when I'm done. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 10:05, 13 Feb 2006 (CST)
What should we do for a favorite song one? If that one goes as a template, then it would have to be used with the argument "subst:" every time, otherwise it would be impossible to change the text to display just what your favorite song actually is without changing everybody else's, too. And I don't want to cause instruction creep. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 14:01, 13 Feb 2006 (CST)
I created a page that will link to your song votes...I think it works well. Take a look and let me know. By the way, the pages that you have created are great. Good jorb! --Duke33 08:38, 14 Feb 2006 (CST)
How about other kinds of pages, such as "This user's an admin" and such? I would make it myself, but I'm not so great at deciding colors. Great job. -Ecks
Concerning colors, my teacher made something really neat. Whirrrlwind

They just switched back to WikkiTikkiTavi, and are adamantly denying that it's just a very good April Fool's joke that they implemented with a very extensive site-wide Monobook redo, although that's what a lot of people suspect (myself included, but I've decided to play along). Ownership babels[edit]

We've held off on creating Ownership displays in the form of babels for this long because most users keep simple text-based lists on their page of albums and items that they own, and there are far too many TMBG items to keep track of with babel boxes. We're undertaking a few big projects at the moment, but might get something worked out in the near future for displaying owned items on user pages in a more organized fashion. In the meantime, we have a customizable babel you can use at Template:Babel so that you can create babels specifically for your userpage, on your userpage. In the future, please ask before attempting to undertake a project such as this, it might save you a lot of work. Thanks. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 03:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Brain Problem Situation Credits[edit]

I saw that it was empty for a long time so that's why I did. I own the CDs of the first 3 albums, and they helped me with Problems With Liner Notes, and were accurate. I do not have the Cast Your Pod To The Wind CD, but I thought since I'm a big fan of Glean, attempt (yeah, attempt) to write the credits. I tried looking at the profile pages of other credits' instrument players so I could fight out the songs they played instruments on (e.g. trumpet, accordion) so I could fill out the credits. I liked that song specifically. Saskia16 (talk) 20:44, 1 January 2017 (EST)Saskia16

Mailing List Archive[edit]

Hi! Thanks as always for helping to archive TMBG's emails here. You probably noticed that after TMBG moved to Mailchimp in 2018 (and after TMBW dropped the ability to use standard HTML tags), the band's emails don't play as nicely when pasted straight into the wiki. I was wondering if you'd be willing to add a (hopefully quick) step in your workflow next time you copy emails over here, by first pasting them into any HTML minifier (like that one) and then copying that to TMBW. I'm having Q-Bot essentially do that to all the 2018-2021 emails here right now via some regex replacements. While the emails won't look exactly like they originally do (because Mailchimp doesn't use inline styles for everything), this helps alleviate some of the issues caused by MediaWiki trying to format indented whitespace and newlines. Thank you so much! -CapitalQtalk ♪ 13:10, 3 December 2021 (EST)
