Threads are crafting materials used primarily in vanity items.

• Black Thread and Pink Thread are purchased from the Clothier.
• Green Thread and Purple Thread are crafted.
• White Thread is crafted, and is only available in the  Japanese Console version. White Thread replaces Green Thread in all  Japanese Console crafting recipes. The Japanese Nintendo 3DS version has Purple Thread as in the US.^[1]

• Although the Nintendo 3DS version utilizes the green version of the Hero's set from 1.3.0.1, the clothing is crafted using Purple Thread like in the  Old-gen console version.

Trivia[]

• The Purple Thread's sprite is the Green Thread's sprite, but inverted in color.

• Desktop 1.4.0.1:
  • Pink Thread sprite updated.
  • Now used to craft the Maid set, Pink Maid set, and Superhero set.

• Desktop 1.3.1: Black and Green Threads sprites updated.

• Desktop 1.2.3: Green Thread is now crafted at a Loom instead of a Placed Bottle.

• Desktop 1.2:
  • All Dyes are renamed to Threads and given updated graphics with the introduction of the new Dyes.
  • Added Pink Thread, Pink Eskimo armor, and Green Stucco.

• Desktop 1.0.4: Introduced Black Thread and Green Thread as Black Dye and Green Dye.
