Release date: June 24, 2021
The Fleet Oberth-class Light Science Vessel is a Tier 6 Science Vessel which may be flown by Starfleet characters, including Federation-aligned Romulan Republic and Dominion characters. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship from any Ship and Shuttle Requisitions officer for 20,000 and 5 , so long as the player's Fleet has a Tier II Shipyard and one Starbase Military Fleet Ship Provision. If the player already owns the Grissom Light Science Vessel from the Zen Store, the Fleet Ship Module cost is reduced to 1.
Overview[]
The fleet version of the Oberth Light Science Vessel has been updated with the latest technology from your fleet's shipyard. It has slightly improved stats over its counterpart, but does not come with a starship trait or special equipment. The design of this quintessential science vessel has finally been updated for the modern era, while maintaining as many of the unconventional charms of its original design as was possible. From the sensitive sensor equipment housed in its semi-detached lower mission pod, to the tightly packed and heavily-shielded warp nacelles, this updated design has inherited many of the unique benefits of its famed lineage, while also benefiting from the enhanced engineering standards present on Federation vessels of the early-25th century. This upgraded design has been named after the ill-fated science vessel responsible for surveying the equally ill-fated Genesis Planet, which bore the design of the original Oberth-class into some measure of note.
Class variants
Class | Information |
---|---|
SKIN UNLOCK: Any Oberth variant First used by Starfleet as a science ship and scout vessel in the late 23rd Century, the Oberth class was phased out of service before the Dominion War. This skin is the Oberth class as it appears in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Players may also select the "Oberth (2280s) Beta" nacelles, which are permanently lit. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Any Oberth variant This skin is the Oberth class as it appears in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the series after it. Players may also select the "Oberth (2360s) Beta" nacelles, which are permanently lit. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Grissom Light Science Vessel, 3,000 The Grissom class was a 25th century Federation starship type, a light science vessel class in Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. The Grissom class was a variant subclass of the Oberth class science vessel. It was equipped with a phased-space membrane, a technology based on the Federation's failed interphase cloaking device. |

Abilities[]
Molecular Reconstruction
Temporal Starships are capable of making subtle alterations on the molecular level through the use of Molecular Reconstruction. This technology allows the starship to assume 1 of 3 different Configurations: Offensive, Defensive and Support.
- (+Max Engine Power, +Turn, +Flight Speed, -Incoming Hull Healing)
- (+Max Shield Power, +Incoming Hull Healing, -Turn, -Flight Speed)
- (+Max Auxiliary Power, +Exotic Damage, +Control Strength, -Energy Weapon Damage)
Each of the configurations generates its own specific counter, which is then used to fuel the Molecular Deconstruction Beam.
- (Scaling Physical DoT, Heals Hull, Disable)
Specialization seating
The Fleet Oberth-class Light Science Vessel features the following specialist seats:
- Commander Science/Temporal Operative
Sensor Analysis[]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Subsystem Targeting[]
The Fleet Oberth-class Light Science Vessel comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Standard configuration[]
Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.

Equipment slots and seating[]
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
Level | Boff seats | |||||

Hull strength[]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (0.935 for the Fleet Oberth-class Light Science Vessel), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
