The Protectorate was a military organization led by the former Imperial Inquisitor Adalric Cessius Brandl, and his son Jaalib Brandl. After the Emperor's final death, the Brandls carved out their own little piece of space and placed it under protection from Star Destroyers under Lord Brandl's control. The basis of the group was to maintain a strong Imperial presence in the face of the New Republic and to protect the Brandl's homeworld of Trulalis from outside influence.
