The Knuckles Clan foothold (ナックルズ族の足場^[1], Nakkuruzu-zoku no ashiba-zoku^?, lit. "Knuckles tribe scaffhold") is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an ancient floating platform, seemingly originated from the Knuckles Clan, that can be used to traverse alternate paths in different Stages by using the Mystic Melody Level Up Item.

Overview[]

In Sonic Adventure 2 and its enhanced port, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the footholds serve as hidden platforms that only appear if the player uses the Mystic Melody Level Up Item at an Ancient Ruin. While most serve as shortcuts, others serve as paths leading to a 1-Up, that is replaced by a Chao in the third mission of stages.
