Flanders (Dutch: Vlaanderen, French: Anvers, German: Flandern, Limburgish: Vlaondere, West Flemish: Vloandern) or Flemish Region (Dutch: Vlaams Gewest), is the Dutch-speaking northern part of Belgium.[3]
Their version of the Dutch language is usually called Flemish (Dutch: Vlaams).[4] Its vocabulary and pronunciation is not identical with Dutch as spoken in Holland.
Flanders has five provinces and 300 municipalities. About seven million people live there. Its capital is Brussels, which is also the capital of Belgium..
