The Marburg virus disease outbreak in Ghana occurred in 2022. On July 8, 2 cases were reported. The WHO announced that the virus was spreading in the entire country.[1][2]

[change | change source]The Marburg virus disease (MVD) is a highly contagious disease located in Ashanti region, found on July 2022. It had a 24-88% fatality (death) rate in past outbreaks. The first case was found in 1967 in Germany, Yugoslavia, and the Sub-Sahara .[3][4]
Outbreak
[change | change source]The first outbreak was in the Ashanti region. The symptoms of the disease are; being dizzy, having diarrhea and nausea.
