Elsie Wiley is one of the recurring characters in Sex Education.
She is the daughter of Erin and the younger half-sister of Maeve and Sean.
Throughout the Series[]
Season 2[]
Elsie is taken by her mother to live with Maeve in her caravan while Erin attempts to get her life back on tracks. During the day, Elsie is frequently left in the care of Cynthia, and over time Maeve grows genuine care for her half-sister. However, Elsie faces the risk of being taken from her mother due to Isaac and Joe finding drugs, causing Maeve to alert the social services.
Season 3[]
After Maeve contacted social services, Elsie was taken away from Erin and currently lives with a woman named Anna, her foster parent. Elsie became very close with Anna and Maeve who started treating her as her biological sister, showing her more love and care in comparison to the previous season. Maeve was often visiting her after school, befriending Anna in the process as well.
In episode 3.7, Elsie was kidnapped by Erin while spending time with her on the playground by courtesy of Anna. Desperate, she tried to escape with Elsie to a different country by ferry, promising her daughter a new life for both of them, despite being threatened with a very long sentence if the police would catch her. Eventually, she was spotted at the port by Maeve and Aimee and after a long talk, they both took Elsie back home while Erin was left there waiting for her ferry to arrive, crying as her daughter was waving and saying goodbye to her.
Season 4[]
Elsie and Anna go to the bus station to pick Maeve up, who comes back from America, after getting the news about her mother overdosing drugs.

Erin Wiley (biological mother)[]
Erin is Elsie's biological mother. After special services had taken her away from Erin, she was completely devastated. She misses her so much, later kidnapping her from her foster mother, Anna, wanting to get away with her. Eventually, thanks to Maeve, Erin decides to return Elsie to Anna.
Anna (foster mother)[]
Anna is Elsie's foster mother. Anna treats Elsie like her real daughter as she's lovely and caring for her.
James (father)[]
James is Elsie's father. He doesn't seem to care about Elsie after he forced Erin and Elsie to move out of his apartment.
Maeve Wiley (older half-sister)[]
Maeve is Elsie's older half-sister. Maeve first meets her 3-year old half-sister, Elsie, when her mum returns to visit her at work. At first, Maeve was not fond of Elsie, but this quickly changed after spending time with her. Maeve babysit Elsie, alongside Cynthia, while her mum was at work or NA meetings. In fear for her sister, Maeve reports her mum to social services after discovering that she is using again, resulting in both Elsie and Erin being taken in.
Sean Wiley (older half-brother)[]
Sean is Elsie's older half-brother. It is unknown if Sean even knows of Elsie's existence.
