Joseph ''Joe'' Goodwin is one of the recurring characters in Sex Education. He is portrayed by George Somner.
He leads a swing dance class with his brother Isaac and helps him get around.
Early Life[]
Joe and his brother Isaac were living with their parents, often being sent out of the house so their parents could get high. One day, Isaac dared Joe to climb up a massive tree and Joe chickened out halfway up. Isaac, wanting to be braver, climbed to the very top of the tree and subsequently, fell off.
A couple years ago, their foster parents could not handle taking care of disabled child anymore and hence, forced him and his brother out of the house.
Throughout the Series[]
Season 2[]
Joe and his disabled brother, Isaac move in the caravan park, and become neighbors with Maeve Wiley. Also, both Joe and Isaac are dance instructors of the Swing Dance classes in Moordale Community Centre.
After Isaac developed a bond with Maeve, she asks him to break into her caravan in order to look for drugs in there, as she suspects that her mother is using drugs again. Joe helps Isaac with it and eventually finds the evidence.
Season 3[]
In season 3, Joe often eats breakfasts with his brother, Isaac, and their neighbor, Maeve. He also encourages his brother to finally tell Maeve about how he feels about her.
Season 4[]
Joe's enjoying the cupcakes that Aimee brought but is forced to leave his caravan after Aimee comes over to visit Isaac. He also attends Erin Wiley's funeral, supporting Maeve.

Isaac Goodwin (younger brother)[]
Isaac is Joe's brother. After Isaac and Joe moved out of their foster parents' house, Joe became the one who cared about Isaac all the time and helped him with everyday activities, like cooking or brushing the teeth.
Friends[]
Maeve Wiley (friend)[]
Maeve was Joe's neighbor and friend. In season 2, out of Maeve's ask, Joe, alongside Isaac, break into Maeve's caravan in order to look for drugs in there, as Maeve suspects that her mother is using again. The two often had breakfasts together in Joe and his brother, Isaac's caravan.
