They are ane o the maist muckle faimilies o shairks wi aroond 160 species placit in 17 genera.[2] Awtho they are generally kent as catsharks, mony species are commonly cried dogfish or gato. They feed on benthic invertebrates an smawer fish. Catshairks are no hairmful tae humans.
