Tigress is the tritagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise. She is the leader of the Furious Five and a fierce Kung Fu Fighter, and she's also the best friend of the main protagonist, Po.
She is voiced by Angelina Jolie in films, and Kari Wahlgren in the TV series.
What Makes Her Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While she started off as bitter, arrogant and jerkish in the first film, especially towards Po due to him being given the role of Dragon Warrior over her, by the end of the film she grows to accept this, and by the second film, has become an incredibly loyal best friend to him.
Kung Fu Panda[]
- When she heard about Tai Lung escaping, she attempted to go out and fight him on her own for the sake of protecting the valley before the other members of the Furious Five came to assist her.
- She and the Furious Five evacuated the Valley of Peace along with the Furious Five to prevent Tai Lung from murdering anyone.
- Towards the end of the film, Tigress finally acknowledged Po as the Dragon Warrior once he banished Tai Lung to the Spirit Realm and bows down in respect.
Kung Fu Panda 2[]
- She went to defeat Lord Shen on Shifu's orders and save China.
- When Po was stressed out during the boat ride over to China, she came out and let him train with her to let off some steam.
- When Shen had the Tower of the Sacred Flame brought down with Po and the Furious Five still inside, she helped Po and the other Furious Five escape just as the tower was falling.
- When she learned that Po was having trouble properly fighting Shen after learning that Shen was there during Po's childhood as the latter want to learn the truth about his parents, she hugs him and told him to stay put in Gongman Jail for the sake of his own safety.
- She led the rest of the Furious Five in their attempt to blow up Lord Shen's cannon factory, and they almost succeeded at doing so and foiling his plan, with it only failing because Po also went there on his own to confront Shen, forcing them to double back and sabotage their own effort to make sure he didn't get caught in the intended explosion.
- When Shen tried to fire his canon directly at Po, she pushed him out of the way, risking her life to save his.
Kung Fu Panda 3[]
- While she did make a snide remark about how Po was bad at teaching, this is justified as he had indirectly caused her and the rest of the Furious Five to get hurt (though he was unfairly unprepared for this), plus she doesn't appear to hold any spite towards him for this afterward.
- She evacuated the valley at Shifu's orders after Kai started take every kung fu master's chi.
- She, along with Monkey, Viper and Shifu, attempted to fight Kai in order to protect the Jade Palace and Oogway's legacy.
- She was hesitant to leave Shifu's side when he had been struck down, and only did so after his insistence as Kai turned Shifu into a Jade Zombie.
- She went to the Panda village and warned Po and the villagers about Kai as he already turned Shifu, Viper, Mantis, Crane, and Monkey into Jade Zombies, not mention that Kai has already taken out every single Legendary Masters in China, giving them ample time to prepare for his arrival.
- When Po was angry and no longer thinking clearly, Tigress tried to get him back into his right mind.
- While her techniques of convincing Po to do things often involve manhandling him, she has no choice but to do this as otherwise he wouldn't listen to her, as seen by how stubborn he can be.
- She, along with the rest of the panda villagers, fought the Jade Zombies in an attempt to distract Kai since the Jade Zombies act as his eyes and ears, allowing Po to send him back to the spirit realm but failed as the Wuxi Finger hold work on mortals as Kai is a Spirit Warrior, and when Po sacrificed his life to send himself and Kai to the spirit realm, she along with the rest of the pandas used their Chi in order to help him in his battle.
- She, along with the Panda village and Mr. Ping, would ultimately play a part in Po's revival after Kai tried to take his chi.
Kung Fu Panda 4[]
- She and the rest of Furious Five helped Po train Zhen to be the next Dragon Warrior.
Trivia[]
- She used to be Near Pure Good due to her jerkish behavior towards Po and her friends. But after it was discussed that she had subverted that corrupting quality, she was subsequently proposed and approved for Pure Good.
