Shards are a type of item introduced in Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version. They were used in exchange for items and TMs between Generation III, Generation IV, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
