Sandy is a normal ostrich villager in the Animal Crossing series. She first appeared in Doubutsu no Mori, and after her appearance in Doubutsu no Mori e+, she remained absent from the series until Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Data for her exists in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer but ultimately remains unused. Her name may come from the common misconception that ostriches hide their heads in the sand when frightened or it may refer to her fur color.
In New Horizons, Sandy has the nature hobby and may be found reading a book pertaining to an item she is studying, which can be either flowers, bugs, fish, or fossils.

Appearance[edit]
Sandy is an orange ostrich with blue eyelids and a red beak. She also has white-tipped tail feathers and black wings.

Sandy is a normal villager, which means she will appear friendly and hospitable towards the player. She will rarely get mad, even if the player fails any tasks they had assigned to them. However, she will lash out if the player pushes her too. Similar to all normal villagers, Sandy will act motherly to the player and most other villagers, including Peppy, jock, and other normal villagers. However, she may become offended by cranky villagers due to their belittling nature, as well as snooty villagers due to their tendency to spread rumors.

In Welcome amiibo[edit]
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, Sandy can only move to the player's town if her amiibo card is scanned, or if she is invited to move in from another player's town.
