Below is a set of rules to follow when editing this wiki.

General Rules

  1. Keep it civil: Do not make personal attacks on other people. If you need to criticize another user’s argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
  2. Be a productive member of the wiki: Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Need help? Ask an administrator! Disrupting the wiki with “edit warring” over differing opinions of a topic with another user or group of users is not productive.
  3. Do not engage in excessive self-promotion: The wiki is a collaborative community resource for the topic at hand. It is NOT a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc. Have a question about whether your link would be welcome? Ask an administrator!
  4. Do not harass other users: If somebody asks you to stop posting certain content on their wall, respect their wishes. It is their wall.
  5. Do follow community guidelines for formatting: When a community has established formatting, it’s important to adhere to that, especially when spoiler content is involved. Please follow the page layout guide when making a page.
  6. No Vandalism: Any acts of defacing a page, adding gibberish or inappropriate content onto articles will results in a block. In addition, no vandalizing pages on Heroes Wiki nor Heroes Fanon Wiki just to get your characters to qualify. This means that, if a character gets rejected on Heroes Wiki because of categories that are incompatible with Near Pure Good, such as being an anti-hero or being chaotic/lawful neutral, and you attempt to remove those categories in order to get the character to qualify, you will also face a block.
  7. No Plagiarism: When writing an article, do not copy any information from online sources. Be sure to write everything in your words with your research. Any acts of plagiarism may result in a warning, a block, the page being tagged with the plagiarism template, or the page deletion.
  8. Near Pure Good Status: Please be sure to read the rules on what a Near Pure Good hero is before adding a page onto the wiki. When making a page, read the disallowed pages to see which character pages are not allowed to be added onto the wiki before making the page.
  9. Sufficient Content: When making an article, please be sure that it has sufficient amount of information and details. Making a page that lacks information or is blank, could be deleted on sight or marked with the insufficient content template. Continuously making pages with insufficient content may also result in a block.
  10. Ban Evasion: Using an account to evade a ban will result in the alternate account getting banned and the original account getting an extended block.
  11. Do Not Recreate Deleted Pages: Pages cannot be remade without admin permission. If a page is recreated without permission from an admin, it will be deleted. If one wants a page to be remade, simply message an admin and they may either give permission or they may restore the deleted page. Continuously remaking a page without admin permission, may result in a block.
  12. Character Roles: Abuse of character roles will not be tolerated here. Changing a character's roles to a completely different character role without providing an explanation will be treated as character roles abuse. These types of edits will be reverted immediately. Also edit-warring over terms to describe their roles will not be tolerated.
  13. Edit War: Constantly overriding other people's edits especially in a counter-productive way and without explaining why the edit was made can result in getting warned, banned or the page being protected. If there is a disagreement over an edit on a page, the best thing to do is message each other on the message wall or use the page's talk page to resolve the disagreement.
  14. Edit-spamming: Making multiple light or "fluff" edits to boost edit count is not tolerated here. This includes making multiple edits that could be done in one or few edits and adding categories to a single page one at a time. Users engaging in this behavior may either face a warning or a block.
  15. No Categories about Copyright Holders: This means, categories on companies, developers, publishers or writers are disallowed and if they are made, they will get deleted.
  16. Links: Never put bad links on this site, an example of this would putting links of website that are inappropriate or unsafe. Users who do this will get a ban.
  17. New Pages: Pages created without a proposal and approval will be deleted. Proposals must be created and approved first, in order to created new pages.
  18. No polls to determine NPG status: No polls on "Who is considered NPG?" or "Is x NPG?" or any iteration of these questions. Polls like these will be deleted. Users who recreate deleted polls or consistently make these polls despite their deletions will also be blocked.
  19. New Categories: Prohibited categories are mentioned on the criteria for Near Pure Goods. New categories that are added without an admin's approval will be removed from this website. Franchise categories will only be permitted in the event where they have a minimum of five Near Pure Goods.
  20. Navigation Templates: Navigation template are only permitted when there are 3 or more Near Pure Goods that are from the franchise.

Proposal Rules

  1. General: To determine if a hero qualify for Near Pure Good, a proposal will have to be made in a blog post. When the proposal is up, there will be three days to vote on the candidate. If the proposal gets at least two 'yes' or 'no' votes within three days, then the proposal will be locked and the page will be approved or rejected. If a proposal receives a unanimous five 'yes' or 'no' votes within three days the proposal will be locked. If a proposal only received one 'yes' or 'no' vote after the extension(s), the proposal will be closed. If a proposal is approved, the page for the character can be created onto the wiki. If a page is rejected, it will be added to the The List of Disallowed page.
  2. Content: The proposal needs to structured in this order: "Who are they?", "What Have They Done?", "What Makes them Close to Pure Good?", "What Prevents them from Being Pure Good?", and "Conclusion". Proposals and removals must follow the structure of the proposal and removal guides. A proposal must have the necessary amount of information to tell the reader about the character. Information must be accurate with no false information, no speculations, or any deliberate attempt to downplay or exaggerate the character's actions or characteristics. Proposals that fail to meet this guideline will be given time to fix said issues before being listed in the discussions or deleted and the user may receive a warning or block.
  3. No Alternate Account(s): Alternate accounts are forbidden from making proposals or voting in proposals. If an alternate account is found to have made a proposal, the alternate account will be blocked and the main account will also face a block. Proposals made by alternate accounts may be closed down after some time or deleted. In addition, if the sockpuppet's proposal is also approved, then it will also face deletion. If the character they are proposing do not meet the voting guidelines, then the proposal will be marked as undetermined. If alternate accounts are found voting, their votes will be considered invalid.
  4. Reason for Votes: When voting, please give a reason for voting. The reason must follow the Near Pure Good criteria. Failure to provide a reason for a vote or an adequate reason will result in the vote being marked as invalid.
  5. Insults: Much like Pure Good, heroes being labeled Near Pure Good is NOT a badge of honor. This means do not insult other heroes just because they got rejected or if you do not agree that they're not Near Pure Good because they're not "good" enough for you.
  6. Ambiguously PG Characters: Proposals on candidates that have preventions that are invalid and false will be deleted. When making a proposal for a candidate, the preventions must be valid and it must be supported by the actions of the characters in the story. It is encouraged to discuss potential candidates on discord or elsewhere on the wiki before making a proposal to avoid making a proposal on a candidate with potentially false preventions. Users who continuously make up preventions on candidates will face blocks.
  7. Removal Permission: If they wanted to make a removal, users need to be granted a permission from admin first, but it needs to explain a proper reasoning in order to do so. However, an insufficient and nonsensical reasoning will not be tolerated or else users will be facing their consequences for this.
  8. Limit for Proposals: Up to ten proposals and removals are permitted to be ongoing at any short time. If there are more than ten at a time, the other proposal or removal will be put on hold until there is more space available.
  9. Plagiarism in Proposals: Similarly to any plagiarized pages, any proposals that have plagiarized content will either be deleted or the user will be warned to remove the plagiarism. User who adds copied content to their proposal may also receive a block. Any user who consistently adds copied content onto their proposals will be blocked. Proposals are expected to be written in one's own words with their own research.
  10. White List: Users must be white-listed in order to make proposals. If users who are not white-listed make proposals, then their proposals will be deleted. Requirements to be placed on the White List are:
    1. Users must have seven days worth of activity on the wiki and at least 30 edits. User accounts must be at least seven days old on the wiki and edits must be in good-faith; edit-spamming in order to meet the edit count requirement and disruptive edits will not be considered.
    2. Users must vote on seven different proposals and provide sufficient reasons for their votes.
    3. In order to vote on any proposals, users must first have at least three days of activity on the wiki with at least 10 edits to pages. Similar to rule #1, edits must be in good-faith and user accounts must be at least three days old on the wiki in order to vote on proposals.
    4. Users must abide by the rules of the wiki.
  11. Black List: Users will be added to the Black List if they have violated any of the aforementioned rules when it comes to proposals. All users on the black list are forbidden from making proposals in either blog posts or discussion posts. Any users on the black list who makes a proposal will either be suspended from making proposals (partially blocked in order to not make blog posts, discussions posts, and/or blog comments) or blocked. Users are only removed from the list by admin discretion.
