The Waterfront, also known as the River Front, is a stage in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat (2011) that takes place near a river bank in the Earthrealm City.
Overview[]
This arena is sometimes referred to as "River Kombat" or "Kombat River". There is a collapsed bridge partially in the river, and a view of the city is in the background. The city is modeled after the city of Chicago, where the MK team is based.
Trivia[]
- Originally, artist Tony Goskie had designed a moon and giant octopus in the water for the background of the Waterfront in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Ultimately, they were later removed.
- This stage's background music is the same as the Subway stage.
- The Mortal Kombat (2011) version of this stage combines elements from the original version of the Street as well as the original versions of the Bridge (The battle takes place on a bridge-like structure near the city) and Waterfront (A large body of water can be seen beneath the bridge).
