Metroid Dread - Announcement Trailer is the official announcement trailer for Metroid Dread. It was shown during the Nintendo Direct on June 15, 2021.

The trailer begins with Samus Aran, now wearing a new suit, landing in the first Artaria E.M.M.I. Zone. The ambient Cave 001 theme plays in the background. "METROID 5" is displayed onscreen. As Samus explores another E.M.M.I. Zone, E.M.M.I.-02SM stands above her and the music switches to the Emmy Patrol theme. Samus shoots at it several times, to no avail. She begins to run as the Emmy Chase theme starts playing, commencing a gameplay sequence in which the E.M.M.I. chases her through the E.M.M.I Zone. Eventually, it corners her, grabs her by the neck and prepares to impale her with its head spike. The game's logo is then displayed, revealing that this new game is the long-awaited Metroid Dread.

A sequence of gameplay clips follows as Boss Scorpius plays, showing Samus navigating Artaria caverns; Wall Jumping in the first E.M.M.I. Zone; shooting at Caterzillas in Cataris; shooting the Spazer Beam at Nailongs and jumping over an Autsniper in Dairon; shooting through the floor in a darkened room in Dairon; using the Melee Counter against a Sharpaw and then a new Dash Melee technique against a Klaida, a Gobbler, and an Autclast; emerging from an Elevator; a Central Unit reacting to Samus entering its zone; Samus encountering E.M.M.I.-03MB; sliding in Artaria; rolling in the Morph Ball beneath a massive statue in Cataris; activating a Map Station; absorbing power from a disabled Central Unit; Quiet Robe opening a gate in Burenia; Samus acquiring the Varia Suit; using the Phantom Cloak to hide from E.M.M.I.-03MB; using the Spider Magnet on blue magnetic strips, including a sliding panel; escaping a collapsing Artaria facility with flame jets; Melee Countering a Muzby; facing off against Corpius; fleeing from E.M.M.I.-04SB; and being confronted by E.M.M.I.-01P. After this, Emmy Patrol plays again as the game's logo is displayed once again, along with its release date: October 8, 2021.

On August 25 on the Czech, Hungarian, and Dutch channels, a teaser was issued that utilized the clips, notably the E.M.M.I. pursuit.
