SE 2012 questions
[edit]Sorry but questions must have a general interest and, frankly, job, hobbies, mental illness may be interesting choosing candidates for a TV quiz, not while choosing stewards for the Wikimedia Community ;) --Vituzzu 20:51, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- I disagree actually, they are relevant with assessing people's personality and how they are likely to react in unusual circumstances (everyone reacts pretty similarly in usual circumstances). I welcome your input on rephrasing them, however... Egg Centric 21:03, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
For your convenience, here are the questions again:
1. Do you have a job? What is it... actually, tell me your entire occupational history - or at least as much of it as you care to share.
2. Please tell me about your favourite hobby - if that's Wikipedia, please tell me about your second favourite hobby.
3. There are a million and one reasons you may decline to answer this, but if you do then kudos whatever your answer - do you have any history of mental illness?
4. I'm interested how much you would show discretion; is there anything at all you could imagine never doing under any circumstances under a steward job? For example, if Willy on Wheels turned out to have been doing page move vandalism because an eccentric billionaire had told him for every page move he would save an orphan... and now said billionaire had changed his mind and would now save 50 orphans a day for every day that Willy on Wheels was unblocked, I'm sure any sane steward would unblock him. An utterly ridiculous example, but I provide it to show that even very strange actions could be done for the good of the project. Is there anything you rule out? Egg Centric 20:46, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- The fourth one is almost a paradox but is in topic, other ones aren't, sorry.
- Why is it not on topic? Why am I not allowed to take these things into consideration? Firstly, they are useful and relevant and secondly even if you disagree with that I should be permitted to take what cereal they eat for breakfast into consideration if I like. Egg Centric 21:20, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- Nope, asking question is not an absolute right, it's just an instrument to reach consensus, the consensus itself is just an instrument to make Wikimedia works, so you have to ask only in topic. --Vituzzu 21:31, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- Please behave and stop trolling, I suppose both me and you have no time to waste. --Vituzzu 21:34, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's extremely close to an absolute right. And who the hell are you to decide what the "topic" is? If anyone has to decide, it has to be the voters - and if you don't trust them, it should be the candidates, who are free to ignore any question. And the questions are supremely relevant - I need to understand where a candidate is coming from. Egg Centric 21:37, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- edit-conflict: I am not trolling.
If you do not answer, I have to consider you a coward unable to stick up for principle. And if you do agree, then you have my vote. That, of course, assumes that you are unable to change my mind.
- Is definitely a personal attack, you have now 31 hours to warm down. --Vituzzu 21:41, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- A personal attack of who, exactly? Egg Centric 21:43, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

- I see you have since learned a lesson. I will call it the curse of Egg Centric. This happened to TreasuryTag too. I don't know what exactly you did and am too lazy to find out but if you annoyed PeterSymonds you must have been doing something wrong. Oh, and since no one here has the courtesy to bother speaking to me, I'm going to give it 24 hours before doing something ridiculous on this user page. Just checking if anyone is bothering to read, you know... DOING YOUR BLOODY JOBS? Egg Centric (talk) 22:51, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- Noting that I've read this but am not acting per Meta:Meta–Steward_relationship#Administrative_actions_on_Meta. MBisanz talk 23:29, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Unblock request for voting
[edit]
Unblock request declined
This blocked user has had their unblock request reviewed by one or more administrators, who has/have reviewed and declined this request. Request reason: May I have my block temporarily lifted on the understanding that it is only to vote in the stewardship election, and the only edits will be to vote, with no comments/viewpoints/questions? Decline reason: You have not addressed the issues you were blocked for. Voting is not an acceptable reason. fr33kman 06:41, 13 February 2012 (UTC) বাংলা | English | español | français | magyar | italiano | 한국어 | Plattdüütsch | Nederlands | українська | 中文 | edit |
Has anyone noticed this? ---------\/
In that case may I give my votes here and have them added by stewards to the votes on my behalf? In fact, would it be possible to take this to the equivilant of meta's ANI to ask for various folk's input (to be clear, not on my block itself, I accept it is futile to challenge that, but with respect to allowing me to vote). My sole interest is in voting and I would be happy to do this by any means, whatever suits basically. In terms of why I am blocked, as I do not plan on making any other edits (excpet to my talk page in conjunction with this request) I would prefer not to address the issues. I recognise this is a somewhat unusual situation, but then meta is an unusual wiki
- Removed the unblock template, as it is not the request. Steward's elections are now over. billinghurst sDrewth 11:21, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
