Tacloban is a city in the central Philippines. It is located at the northeastern part of the Leyte Island. It is the capital of both the Eastern Visayas region and Leyte province. It has the largest population among cities with Waray speaking people.
Tacloban hosted several wikimedia forums and edit-a-thons which were organized by the local community. A typical forum would usually involve presentation and discussion on selected Wikimedia topics. While during an edit-a-thon, aside from having a forum, would be followed by actual editing activities by the participants.
