For other uses, see Xahea.

The Xahea system was a star[2] with an associated star system. The system was located in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. (SNW episode: "Strange New Worlds", )

It contained Xahea, the homeworld of the Xahean species. (DSC episode: "Such Sweet Sorrow")

History and specifics[]

In the year 2258, the Battle near Xahea took place in the system's vicinity. Queen Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po took part in that battle against the rogue Section 31 artificial intelligence Control. (DSC episode: "Such Sweet Sorrow")

The system was located near the areas claimed by the Cardassian Union, Talarian Republic and United Federation of Planets. On stardate 1739.12 in the year 2259, Xahea was depicted on a Starfleet map of local space surrounding the Kiley system. (SNW episode: "Strange New Worlds")

In the 24th century, the Cardassians claimed the Xahean system, enslaved the Xaheans and commenced strip mining the planet Xahea. In the 2370s, the Cardassian Union joined the Dominion. At the conclusion of the Dominion War in 2375[3], the Occupation of Xahea ended. The Xaheans declined support offered by the Federation. Following the Attack on Mars in 2385[4], the Federation turned inward.

The Xaheans continued mining their dying world and abandoned the system in Xahean colony ships almost a hundred years later in the late 25th century. By the 32nd century, the system remained unclaimed. By then, the Xahean Children of the Stars had established the Sanctuary habitat which replicated the warmth and brightness of the Xahean sun.
