"Fascination" is a third season episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Unusual romantic entanglements occur during a Bajoran festival.

Summary[]

The station is holding the Gratitude Festival, a Bajoran holiday where people are encouraged to put their problems behind them. Jake is despondent as Mardah has left the station. O'Brien is in better form as Keiko and Molly are visiting. Odo is looking forward to spending time with Kira, although she mentions that Bareil is soon to arrive on the station. Also arriving is Lwaxana Troi. Jake suddenly confesses his love for Kira, while Bareil does the same for Jadzia. Jadzia herself confesses her love for Sisko. Bashir, who cannot keep his hands off Kira [and Kira likewise) discovers that Ambassador Troi has Zanthi fever, which via her Betazoid telepathy projects her emotions on to others. Bashir treats Lwaxana and the station residents return to normal. O'Brien and Keiko agree that Keiko extend her living on Bajor for another seven months.
