Amsterdam Drift is a city course from Mario Kart Tour. It is encountered in the Amsterdam Tour. As its name implies, the track is located in Holland, more specifically Amsterdam. The Switch version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe features it as the 25th course in the Booster Course Pass.

Layout[]

The given layout is for the track's latest appearance in the Switch version of Mario Kart 8, more specifically the Booster Course Pass. For the individual layouts from Mario Kart Tour which this version combines, see Amsterdam Drift 1, Amsterdam Drift 2, and Amsterdam Drift 3.

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the racers start at the track's "common finish line." The layout changes with each lap, with each lap following a certain layout.

Lap 1[]

The first lap uses the first layout. Here, the racers start on Damrak streek. After a right turn, they will be lead to a four-way intersection, where they will be forced to turn left. (If they go straight or to the right, they will get snagged by the Rescue Lakitu and be forced onto the left path.) After this, they will enter a Glider Ramp, where they will enter the countryside, although they might need to avoid the blades of some windmills in the area. Afterwards, the racers race down a slightly curvy dirt road whilst they avoid Monty Moles. The Moles do not change their location, although they are still dangerous. Houses and windmills can be seen here. This dirt road ends in a dash panel, which the racers use to make their way back to the city, jumping over a ferry boat on their way. The last leg of the lap takes them past a tram and then through a ninety degree left turn followed by a slight left back to the finish line.

Lap 2[]

This lap uses the second layout, but has the racers traverse the route backwards, with them originally starting in the direction opposite to the first route. The lap starts off identical to the first lap, but after the right turn, the racers will be forced to go straight at the intersection, with an underwater section in their way due to the route going through the canal. After a right turn, they can hit an air current going upwards to drive on top of a boat. This is followed by a slight left and then a right turn to get back on land, followed by a road back to the start/finish line.

Lap 3 (Final Lap)[]

This lap starts off identical to the first two until the intersection, at which the racers are forced to turn right, following the third route backwards. Afterwards, they go onto a route that was unused in Mario Kart Tour, at which point they are lead onto Amsterdam Drift 3 proper, going through a short underwater section. This leads to a garden where ferocious Piranha Plants attack, but they can be counterattacked with Super Stars. After the racers follow the winding road, they head back into the city proper, following the third route until they reach the side road again, whereupon they head down it and rejoin with the first route to conclude the race.
