why do you use res publica croatica and not res publica croatia?why do you use adjective, why not a noun croatia?

Latinitatis causa. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 08:43, 15 Iulii 2008 (UTC)[reply]
very informative answer; you claim that respublica croatiCa is the correct form, but why is then that in every official document written (partially or completely) in latin it says: "Res publica Croatia" ? Just google "res publica croatia" and you'll find documents about university of zagreb and such, for example: mudrac.ffzg.hr/~szbor/Zakoni/Zakon_nazivi.pdf (on the top of the first page it says Res publica Croatia) [ Anon ]
OK, thanks, that's exactly what we need. If modern Latin sources, especially official ones, say "Res publica Croatia", we accept their ruling. If you can cite one or two more, just to confirm, that will help. I have now made the change you propose. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 09:12, 23 Novembris 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve changed the page attesting "res publica Croatia", not because of objections against "res publica Croatia", but against a page featuring something like "congregatio Croaticum" (horribile dictu).--Utilo 16:04, 23 Novembris 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Croatia bene sed Illyria aut Dalmatia sunt quas Octavus Gognacci scripsi. Croatia bene, sed modo medium aptetur. Croatia et non Dalmatia utemur. Simul, Louisiana et not Lodoviciana utamur. Dicite me quod rentur.

Quis est Octavus Gognacci? Eum non possum googlere. Quid cum Croatia Lodoviciana habet? Quid significat "quod rentur"? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 08:42, 15 Iulii 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew: reor, reri, ratus (deponent), Anglice: 'reckon, think, suppose, judge'. So Dicite me quod rentur 'Call me what they suppose', 'Tell of me what they guess'? (Wouldn't 'Tell me what they think' be Dicite mihi quod rentur?) IacobusAmor 12:52, 15 Iulii 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OCTAVIVS CAGNACCI [1873-1903 post Chr.], "Sacrae Missiones in Illyrico et in Dalmatia"

De temperatione cogito. Nomen "Croatia" video et bene est. Nomen "Dalmatia" non requirimus. Hodie Dalmatia Croatia appelletur.

Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 14:14, 15 Iulii 2008 (UTC)[reply]
