Cook what you want is a food-based metaphor for the IndieWeb principle of make what you need, encouraging creators to make improvements on their personal sites that they themselves want to use. It is the complementary metaphor to eat what you cook.

Similar to: make_what_you_need#Expand_from_you_to_others, cooking in particular is a good metaphor to encourage eventual broadening to include others:
- Cook for yourself and a friend
- Cook and host a dinner party
