about

In February 2010 my good friend, pianist Nobu Stowe, invited me for some
concerts in the Baltimore area. Since in the same period I was scheduled to
perform in duo with John Zorn in New York, I gladly accepted.
What thrilled me was the idea to play again with Nobu and with some terrific
musicians that I never had the chance to perform with: Dave Ballou, Daniel
Barbiero and Achille Succi.
The quintet recorded some of my compositions structured in the way to
present instrumental combinations in the form of trios, duos and quartets
exploring different tonal colors.
Here again the quintet challenges the boundary between composition
and improvisation and proclaims a holistic path to jazz, classical music,
world-music in a blend of genres and atmospheres.
A.C. Los Angeles February 2011

“ I always considered myself a composer using percussion and keyboards
as one of the many means I’m using (orchestra included) to give life to my
music. That’s why in an album making, the conceiving before and the editing
after, are so important to me.”
Andrea Centazzo from an interview with F.S.Sasso on New Age Magazine (2005)
