Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Lyon will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-Spd

The best IVs for Lyon are +Atk and -Spd. Lyon does not rely on Spd for follow-up attacks or for protecting him against hostile follow-up attacks so the only way to effectively increase his damage is through a +Atk IV. It also makes best use of skills like Bowbreaker 3 because it allows him a guaranteed follow-up attack when against bow units. This goes the same for a skill like Quick Riposte 3.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Lyon to 10. This is for the same reason as above. This helps him get more damage per each attack. This increases his overall viability as a unit. Make sure to get a skill like those mentioned above that allow him to guarantee a follow-up attack to utilize his Atk stat.

How to Use, Explanation

This build utilizes refined Naglfar and Triangle Adept to combat Green and Colorless foes. Mystic Boost 3 prevents Wrathful Staff effects and Null C-Disrupt 3 allows counterattacking against Dazzling Staff effects.

How to Use, Explanation

This set leverages Naglfar with the Special Effect Refine to run a Close Reversal build. Null Follow-Up 3 is picked up to support Naglfar's effects. You can use any Smoke skill and Stance skill of choice. They are all pretty inexpensive so feel free to adapt depending on the situation. Bonfire is chosen to provide extra damage with Close Reversal's Def+5 boost.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Naglfar

Naglfar's Special Effect Refine provides 2 simple effects depending on Lyon's health:

1. Being at or above 50%, inflicts -4 Atk/Res to foe
2. Being at or above 70%, guarantees a follow-up attack.

This gives incentive for Lyon to be healthy at all times so make sure to pair him with a healer or a mechanic to heal from damage.

Lyon is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Lyon Strengths

Upgraded Rauðrraven+

Lyon's weapon, the Naglfar, is basically a Rauðrraven+ with a higher Mt. It grants Lyon weapon-triangle advantage over colorless foes. This means that Lyon can deal with a wide variety of units. When combined with his decent Def stat Lyon becomes a threat to the very common colorless dagger and bow units.

Res Buff for Allies

Drive Res 2 grants allies within 2 spaces +3 Res during combat. It is a small buff, but it is easy to utilize as it has a range of 2 and you do not need to be positioned properly at the start of the turn for the effect. Additionally, It is also an in-combat buff which makes it easy to stack with other buffs.

Powerful Special Effect Refine that can guarantee follow-up attacks

Lyon usually relies on Quick Riposte 3 to score follow-up attacks, but now with an upgraded Naglfar, he can now score follow-up attacks as long as he is healthy regardless of the phase as well. It also inflicts debuffs on foes. Read more in the Weapon Refine Section.

Low Spd

Lyon has very low Spd. This makes him susceptible to follow-up attacks. We suggest inheriting Quick Riposte 3 to allow him to score follow-up attacks in the enemy phase.

Not Recommended for Skill Inheritance

Lyon does not possess any skills that are worth inheriting onto another unit. We recommend training and investing in him instead. If you get multiple copies of him, you can aim for a +10 merge Lyon or send him home for some Hero Feathers. Take note that he can only be obtained from Grand Hero Battles or from using Heroic Grails.

Obtain through a Grand Hero Battle

Lyon is a Hero who, for a limited time, can be obtained through completing a Grand Hero Battle for the first time. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
