This lovely view over Cockington country park.. to Torquay.. is actually a 'Woodland Burials site'..
'Set in the green surroundings of Cockington Country Park, our Woodland Burial site offers a natural and more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burials and the burial of ashes. The site is part of Conqueror Wood, an 18 acre woodland planted to celebrate the Trafalgar 200 celebrations in 2005, which offers fantastic views over the whole of Torbay. Open glades, paths and rides with views of the sea are part of the woodland, which is planted with oak, ash, hazel, maple and shrubs. For each burial, a tree will be planted nearby, and plots can be marked with a granite plaque set into the ground. Other mementoes and flowers are not permitted. Long grass and gentle maintenance encourages wildlife to thrive, such as the rare Cirl Bunting'
Have a wonderful week ahead.. thank you for looking
I always try to take a few minutes for myself to work on a photo. For me it’s like meditation, it calms and clears my mind.
The Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces form a historical building complex in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which has been listed as a UNESCO cultural World Heritage Site since 1984. The buildings are connected by the spacious gardens and trees of the Schlosspark. Augustusburg Palace (German: Schloss Augustusburg) and its parks also serve as a venue for the Brühl Palace Concerts. The Max Ernst Museum is located nearby.
Falkenlust hunting lodge was designed by François de Cuvilliés and built from 1729 to 1740, in the style of the Amalienburg hunting lodge in the park of Nymphenburg Palace.
From shortly after World War II until 1994, Augustusburg was used as a reception hall for guests of state by the German President, as it is not far from Bonn, which was the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany at that time.
Modica has neolithic origins and it represents the historical capital of the area which today almost corresponds to the Province of Ragusa. Until the 19th century it was the capital of a County that exercised a so wide political, economical and cultural influence as it has been counted among the most powerful feuds of the Mezzogiorno.
Rebuilt following the devastating earthquake of 1693, its architecture has been recognised as providing outstanding testimony to the exuberant genius and final flowering of Baroque art in Europe and, along with other towns in the Val di Noto, is part of UNESCO Heritage Sites in Italy.
Prusik Peak in early morning fog as seen from Leprechaun Lake. Enchantments, Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Washington, USA.
On October 15th, 2005 I went backpacking for three days into the Enchantments, a beautiful area of lakes and mountains in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. After 10 miles of hauling my camera and backpacking gear I arrived in the plateau of the Enchantments in a storm. The wind was blowing so hard that I spent an hour looking for a campsite that was somewhat sheltered. I couldn't sleep because the noise of the wind in the trees and on the rocks and since I was worried that my tent will break down.
The next morning the wind was gone. And fog had transformed the already beautiful landscape into a magical place. The bright yellow of the larches' needles covered the ground and was swimming in the lakes. It was completely silent. I did not meet anybody for the next two days. I was in a state of wonder. And graetful for being able to be in such a beautiful place and being able to photograph it!

From the archives, January 2015.
That was only four years ago, but the climate has changed so dramatically since then, that there are few days now that would be cool enough to go out shooting.
