Orran is an Astrologer.

Astrologian (占星術士 or 占星術師, Senseijutsushi?), also known as Astrologer and abbreviated as AST (, Uranai?), is a recurring job in the Final Fantasy series. While its skillset differs in each game, the job is generally support-oriented, mainly focused on increasing the party's stats and providing protective abilities. The Astrologian is thematically similar to the Time Mage job.

Astrologian (AST) is a job which made its debut in the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward expansion. It is a healing class themed around astromancy, with elements of Time Mage and Gambler. Their weapon of choice is the star globe.

A learned augur who uses Astrology to manipulate fate and sway the course of battle.

Description

Astrologer is Orran's job, it is just like the Squire job, except he that he can only equip dictionaries and has one extra ability, Celestial Stasis, an ability exclusive to this job. Astrologer takes 1,470 JP to master.

The Astrologian is a recurring asterisk Bravely series. It is often associated with the character Norzen Horoskoff from Bravely Second: End Layer. The Astrologian uses Astral Magic to support their allies, with defensive and status increasing spells.

The Astrologer also appeared as a gold job card for combat in the defunct browser game, Knights of the Crystals.

Etymology[]

An astrologer practices one or more forms of astrology. Typically an astrologer draws a horoscope for the time of an event, such as a person's birth, and interprets celestial points and their placements at the time of the event to better understand someone, determine the auspiciousness of an undertaking's beginning, etc.
