A soft-redirection template for Japanese kyūjitai entries.
Usage: {{ja-gv|shinjitai form}}
. Note that the shinjitai form may not be a lemma; it is up to the template to find the lemma.
The template can also be used to soft-redirect spellings with 々 differences (e.g. 様様 to 様々), and extended shinjitai (e.g. 侭 to 儘). They're collectively referred to as glyph variants, hence the name {{ja-gv}}
.
Example
The alternative spellings of 天道虫 are organized as follows:
Lemma form | Alternative spellings in shinjitai (Redirects to the lemma form using {{ja-see}} ) |
Glyph variants (Redirects to the shinjitai form using {{ja-gv}} )
|
---|---|---|
天道虫 | てんとうむし | |
テントウムシ | ||
てんたうむし | ||
テンタウムシ | ||
(天道虫) | 天道蟲 | |
てんとう虫 | てんとう蟲 | |
てんたう虫 | てんたう蟲 | |
瓢虫 | 瓢蟲 | |
紅娘 |
Note that てんとうむし and テントウムシ are not glyph variants because hiragana and katakana are not always exchangeable. Similarly, てんとう虫 and てんたう蟲 are not because the kana と and た are not always exchangeable. They're specific to words so they're considered alternative spellings. However, shinjitai and kyūjitai are almost always exchangeable (except in names, terms referencing glyphs like 虫部, etc.), so kyūjitai terms can use {{ja-gv}}
to duplicate everything on the shinjitai entry with no problem, including the {{ja-kanjitab}}
s. The exceptions are spellings involving ambiguous shinjitai such as 弁, and how to handle them is undecided at the moment.
