Plays in a league that isn't professional. There's also a lack of good sources available. Spiderone (talk) 16:10, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - no evidence he has played in a fully-pro league, so fails WP:ATHLETE. Also fails WP:GNG. GiantSnowman 16:27, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - article now improved to show he has played in Europe, and in the Final of a National Cup. Just about notable enough for me. GiantSnowman 08:36, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment I'm reluctant to say delete on a Dinamo Tbilisi player without further investigation. Dinamo are historically the dominant Georgian team, having won 13 of the 20 league titles since Georgian independence. Tomashvili played on the winning side in this year's Georgian Cup final for instance [1]. Most sources are likely to be in non-Roman scripts, which makes searching difficult, but it'd be worth checking recent editions of the UEFA European Football Yearbook and the like. Oldelpaso (talk) 09:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep A standard google search shows that he has played for Dinamo Tbilisi in league play and European club cup play. Sources are required to clean the article up but that does not mean it should be deleted. Hopefully someone speaks Georgian.Cptnono (talk) 04:51, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete never played in a fully professional level, therefore he is a non-notable subject. Really nothing else to say. --Angelo (talk) 07:37, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Plays for the top side in Georgia and has played in European Competition. Agree with oldelpaso re Tblisi players and the script problem. Have added a few quick references from a very quick Google search. 8lgm (talk) 08:22, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I guess playing in European competition is enough even if it is just qualifying. Spiderone (talk) 08:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'll be happy to withdraw once the delete votes are also withdrawn. Spiderone (talk) 08:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment playing in the final of a National Cup in a country where there is no proof the top flight is fully professional is absolutely unrelevant. In addition, it seems like the subject himself played only in the qualifying rounds of a continental competition, which is unrelevant as well (such rounds are competed by terribly low-level teams from very minor footballing countries like San Marino, Andorra and Moldova). --Angelo (talk) 09:19, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, but this guy played in games between Dinamo Tblisi and Panathinaikos (just balancing the argument..). 8lgm (talk) 09:56, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- And so? Notability does not depend by the opponent you're playing against, but the football level you're playing at. The club was seeded with Panathinaikos, but it could have also been technically seeded with FC Sheriff Tiraspol. --Angelo (talk) 10:06, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- My point was to balance your argument. In saying that rounds are competed by terrible low-level teams, you conviently missed out the fact that bigger teams are also in this draw, such as the two sides I mentionned. Just wanted to make sure that you're misleading comment didn't mislead anyone who didn't already know this. 8lgm (talk) 10:59, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete: Never played in a fully pro league or cup so fails ATHLETE. Sources have nothing more than routine mentions e.g. games played, match line-ups, so these don't really pass WP:SBST. Recreate if he ever plays at a fully-pro level. BigDom 14:31, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
