Happy New Year! | |
Hello Timur9008: Did you know ... that back in 1885, Wikipedia editors wrote Good Articles with axes, hammers and chisels? Thank you for your contributions to this encyclopedia using 21st century technology. I hope you don't get any unnecessary blisters. |

Board game reviews noticeboard
[edit]I've got a project that I'm going to undertake, but I'm not quite ready to start yet; see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Board and table games#Reviews noticeboard for a preview. It may be massive, but of course any help you would be willing to provide would be great as always. I'll let you know when I've started it up. BOZ (talk) 18:46, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
- Looks big :O

Highbeam
[edit]Several years ago, Wikipedia was offering memberships to HighBeam Research which had copies of many newspaper articles to subscribers, so that people could use them to source Wikipedia articles. I was always kind of leery about this; what happens if Highbeam goes away? Well, it did, and all the old links are dead links now (many of the snippets are in Internet Archive, but those are just snippets and not the whole article). I was wondering with your subscription, would you be willing to replace Highbeam links with newspapers.com links for me when I find them?
I saved Chet Williamson from deletion back in 2015 using nearly a dozen articles on Highbeam. I was wondering if you would be willing to see how many of those you can find and replace with links so that people can see the original newspaper articles?
I'm sure there are plenty of others (Lisa J. Steele is the only one that immediately comes to mind) that I built or saved this way, but I wouldn't burden you with a big list, only one or two at a time as I find them. BOZ (talk) 05:56, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- Sure. Timur9008 (talk) 09:02, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. :) Williamson is the one that caught my attention yesterday, because it now has so many sources that average readers are unable to access. How many of those are on newspapers.com? BOZ (talk) 12:59, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

- Ah sorry, I should have checked first, but whoever posted that link did not link directly to the page in question. It is for an article by Susan E. Lindt titled “The Stage Is the Star in Inherit the Wind”, do you see that one? BOZ (talk) 14:02, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi, could you please tell me why you placed the Jagged 85 template on Pachinko? I couldn't find edits by that user in the article's history at all. Aithus (talk) 09:34, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- It's here. [14] (the franchise's subsection is his work)
- User:Maestro2016 and Jagged 85 are the same person. Timur9008 (talk) 09:44, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your clarification. I was looking only at Jagged 85 user page and didn't see any note about sockpuppets. Looking closer at the template documentation, I can see that they are listed in the background RFC. Sorry for the confusion. Aithus (talk) 09:52, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
Hey there, I noticed yo asked me another question about the article but it must have slipped past me!
The article is looking great, all that really needs work now is the reception. I understand that this is definitely going to be a small one, especially because of the source material and the fact that video game reviews back in the day weren't good. Is there a way to expand the section with those three sources in the table though? Is there anything they all agree on? Is there a sentence you could quote from them? Panini! • 🥪 15:46, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- I found another review. PC Player German Magazine 1993-05 [[15]].(credits to MobyGames editors, although the date was slightly wrong)
- User:IceWelder can you assist us with this? Timur9008 (talk) 15:56, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- Suprisingly little information in that source. The whole left page is just some backstory on Mavis Beacon, Interplay, Nintendo, and Mario. The right page then has like two paragraphs on what the game is about, then some unrelated tanget about the typing competence of his colleagues. I added the relevant bits to the article. - I think a screensot to the gameplay section would be nice too. There are probably more sources out there I haven't found yet though. Timur9008 (talk) 16:02, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
