Welcome with a bang!
[edit]Welcome also. I feel like an undertaker welcoming you, because I killed your large contribution to naphthalene. I moved your essay to the Talk page as a temporary parking place. What you wrote is fine, but it belongs in its own article on "Naphthalene sulfonic acids". If you want some help, just ask. It is generally the policy that chemical articles are about that specific chemical, not its derivatives. There are exceptions, but in my judgement this is not one of them. Dont take this message as being negative but as an opportunity to create a welcome article.--Smokefoot (talk) 01:24, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. The area you identified would also make a nice full article since significant technology exist there. You also might look at Naphthalenesulfonates. We welcome potential editors that can bring diverse perspectives to these articles and your experience would ensure such a perspective.--Smokefoot (talk) 14:45, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Infoboxes
[edit]Hi. Please show me the discussion where consensus was determined to change the date template in articles from WP:ACTOR. It has not been broached on the project talk page, nor can I tell that it has been determined by consensus that the present use is acceptable. My understanding is that at present this is essentially a trial/study, etc. and from reading some discussion pages, I do not see that it has been accepted on a wholesale basis. Please do not change any more infoboxes related to this project without first obtaining consensus from the project. Wildhartlivie (talk) 21:03, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, he is doing a study/trial/whatever and chose a few articles from some projects in order to study how the template is working. It wasn't an endorsement to start changing the templates on all articles, and inclusion in the study hasn't been broached with the WP:ACTOR project. At present, there is no consensus determination to start inserting these changes project wide. Whenever it is that they have all the bugs worked out and consensus agrees to using the different template, they will have a bot make the changes. At present, however, there was no agreement to put them on all biographies. Wildhartlivie (talk) 21:58, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! Wildhartlivie (talk) 22:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Something I thought of
[edit]I was looking and it occurred to me that there is something you can do while you're doing other editing. If you come across a biography that still has the date links in the opening sentence, you could go ahead and de-link them. The date linking has been deprecated on Wikipedia because clicking those links takes one to an endless list of things totally unrelated to the biography itself. Just a suggestion. Thanks again. Wildhartlivie (talk) 00:11, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Margo Woode
[edit]A tag has been placed on Margo Woode requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 16:46, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Franchot Tone
[edit]Hello. Is there a reason why you keep removing the marriage templates from the infobox on the Franchot Tone article? You have done so twice and your only explanation is "infobox update". If you read Template:Infobox actor, you'll see only the spouse's name and years the subject and spouse were married should go into that parameter (hence the usage of the very convenient marriage template). There's no reason to add "divorced" after the name as most people can figure out the couple divorced especially if there's another name directly after it. Further, the article itself should give that information as the infobox's purpose is to serve as a simple overview of the subject. Unless you have a policy based reason for removing the template, please do not continue to remove it under the guise of "updating". Thanks. Pinkadelica♣ 21:57, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:34, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Allrovi link quirk
[edit]Hello Savolya. Thanks for your work cleaning up infoboxes and links. I wanted to let you know about an odd quirk to do with ELs to Allrovi (formerly AllMovie Guide). They do not work if you use the "1:" that is at the start of their number. For example the one you just added to Scrooge {{amg movie|id=1:43275}} will go to a page that has a cute picture of the volleyball Wilson from the film Castaway and give you an error message. If you remove the "1:" thus {{amg movie|id=43275}} it will go to their page for the film. I don't know if this is a quirk of our template or the alteration in that website when it changed names but the links wont work the old way. Also our EL templates have been updated and you dont have to include the "id=" if you don't want to. Thus this {{amg movie|43275}} will work just fine. Now you don't have to leave it out if you are used to using it - the link will still work - but you can save a little time if you want to. I hope that this is of help but if it is too confusing just let me know and I will try to explain it better. Cheers and happy holidays. MarnetteD | Talk 23:53, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Removal of maintenance tags
[edit]Please do not remove "refimprove" tags unless you have added sufficient references to an article to verify all of the assertions made in it. For example, you removed a refimprove tag from the article Anna and the King of Siam (film), but that article is woefully under-referenced. The maintenance tag is there to draw attention to the article to encourage someone to do the research necessary to properly reference the article. Please see WP:V and WP:RS for more information. Thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 10:25, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
I apologize for my edit summary reverting your most recent change to the article. I misunderstood what you'd done. In any event, age doesn't normally go in that parenthetical, so please leave it out. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:29, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Crowded Sky
[edit]Hello Savolya,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Crowded Sky for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Matty.007 (talk) 08:40, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Crowded Sky
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Crowded Sky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.allmovie.com/movie/the-crowded-sky-v88270. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Speedy deletion nomination of The Crowded Sky
[edit]Hello Savolya,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Crowded Sky for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Crowded Sky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Savolya. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, The Crowded Sky, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Matty.007 (talk) 09:43, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
The article The Crowded Sky has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Matty.007 (talk) 09:44, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Film infoboxes
[edit]I don't think you should be changing film infoboxes the way you have been. My understanding is that the "writer" field is for when a film has a single writer. If the film is based on a novel or previously published short story, that should appear in the "based on" field with the title of the work the film is based on and the date it was published. This is because putting the writer of the source material in the "writer" field makes it appear that person wrote the film, but that is not the case. It would be good if you would go back and fix those infoboxes you have altered so that they won't give the reader an incorrect impression. Thanks, Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:17, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Stub tags
[edit]Hello! While I understand your good faith edits, stub tags should only be added to articles that are assessed as Stub-Class on their talk pages. Sometimes an article is on the fine line between Stub-Class and Start-Class, and if a stub tag is necessary, please consider also updating the classification on the talk page. Otherwise, please read WP:STUB for more information, and do not add stub tags to articles that are clearly not stubs. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 16:29, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Savolya,
I was reverting an edit in the infobox for this actor that posted a name for his child who wasn't identified in the article. That got me curious about the information about his spouse, as Wallace Thompson isn't mentioned in the article either. I found that you added the information with this edit and I was wondering if you had a source for adding this detail. Looking through the edit history, there also have been arguments that "spouse" is not the correct word to describe a longterm, same sex relationship before marriage became legal. Thanks for any help you can offer...I realize this edit was quite a few years ago. Liz Read! Talk! 17:30, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Cause of death
[edit]Hi, Savolya. I reverted your last edit to Gary Cooper because your cited source does not indicate "colon cancer" as the "cause of death". According to three reliable sources—none of which provide a specific "cause of death"—he had multiple forms of cancer during his last year, including cancer of the pancreas, colon, bones, lungs, bones, etc. I have an unpublished and unverified photo purported to be of his death certificate which indicates "Carcinoma of colon" (colon cancer), which may or may not be authentic. Until someone can find a reliable source indicating that the official "cause of death" was colon cancer, we should not venture into original research. Whenever there is this type of ambiguity on a fact, it is best to choose the level of specificity supported by reliable sources—in this case, "cancer". Bede735 (talk) 14:28, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

Question
[edit]Hello S. I am wondering if you have a source for this. I read through the article and couldn't find a mention of his retirement. If you do you know of a reference you might, when you have the time, add a brief mention about it to the article. I am going to miss that rich deep voice performing new characters. Fortunately, I have a number of TV series and films that he was in on DVD. Thank for your time and I hope that you have a pleasant week. MarnetteD|Talk 00:27, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for trying. Per WP:RS/IMDB that site cannot be used as a ref. Another problem is that they only list TV and film roles. Most UK based actors have a career onstage before they act in front of a camera. Next the 2014 date is only the last time he was seen onscreen. Again he might have had a stage role and he might have a new film or TV role in the future. If you come on any info from a reliable source please feel free to add it. I do appreciate your trying. Nomination of Miss Robin Crusoe for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Miss Robin Crusoe is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miss Robin Crusoe until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Gab4gab (talk) 15:41, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
The article Natasha Lytess has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Most sources are linked with Marilyn Monroe; fails WP:GNGACTOR.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jd02022092 (talk) 17:09, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
Hello, Savolya. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Coming Home for Christmas (2017 film), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

[edit]I refer to your addition of a cast section to the article Tank Girl (film). Please be advised as per MOS:FILM, film articles on Wikipedia do not necessarily have to have cast sections. At the featured article nomination for Tank Girl it was agreed that the cast section would be merged with the plot. I encourage you to keep editing Wikipedia, however, in the future it's a good idea to use caution when adding an entire new section of data to a featured article, and perhaps check the article's history and talk pages first. Featured articles have all been extensively peer reviewed so if something looks like it is missing, that is likely for a good reason. Have a nice day. [edit]Sébastien Foucan
[edit]Hi,
you added yearsactive = 2005-present
to the {{Infobox person}} for Sébastien Foucan earlier this year ([2]). That is at odds with the lede and body of the article, which mentions TV appearances in 2003. And based on Parkour § Name and split, he was active and at least somewhat notable as early as 1997. Could you take another look and fix the contradiction as you think appropriate?
Cheers,

Infobox television
[edit]Thanks for your work on adding infoboxes! I just wanted to let you know that for Template:Infobox television, there are a number of parameters that have been made obsolete. On your recent edit to The Spiral Staircase (1961 film), this included show_name, show_name_2, format, status, website, website_title, and production_website, all of which are now obsolete. I'm assuming you're copy/pasting from somewhere, so you might want to update whatever that is so that you don't paste in obsolete parameters, otherwise the article ends up in Category:Pages using infobox television with unknown parameters for maintenance. Speedy deletion nomination of Karolina Protsenko
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Karolina Protsenko requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Karolina Protsenko. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Katrina Law
[edit]I reverted your edits on Katrina Law's DOB because none of those are reliable sources. As per WP:BLPPRIVACY there are only a couple acceptable options when it comes to WP:DOB. A truly reliable Secondary source(IE a magazine such as Los Angeles Times or New York Times. And preferably multiple of these) reporting their exact DOB. Or a social media post from the subject themselves where he or she confirms his or her birthday and preferably either his or her age or YOB in the same post as well. Failing either one of those, they should be kept out of the article for now.
And I'd also like to point out that she graduated from Stockton University in 1999. This was cited in the article[3] So the 1985 birth year that a lot of sites have listed is very likely to be incorrect and just web scraped that from other sites. Unless she happens to be some sort of child prodigy, it's very unlikely she was just 13 when she graduated from college. Kcj5062 (talk) 00:28, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

- So, in the section;
- ==Personal life==
- Thomas is a vegetarian, nonsmoker, and nondrinker.[1][2] In 1986, he was sued for child support by Dhaima Mathews, the mother of his then 2-year-old daughter and 9-week-old son.[3] Thomas later married model Kassandra Green. Green filed a domestic violence complaint against Thomas in 1997, during which time she was described as being the mother of 5 of his 12 children. Thomas dismissed the complaint as "an absolute, blatant lie".[4][5]
- Do you accept that he was married etc?? Savolya (talk) 17:39, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- I don't accept that they married in 1986, because that is an unsourced claim you added. You can add her to the infobox if you want without a year of marriage. But it seems that they are divorced, a claim which I cannot substantiate with a verifiable source and hence have not added it. So without a year of marriage or divorce I believe it will give the impression that they remain married. That is why I removed not only the year of marriage but the marriage entry altogether from the infobox. Οἶδα (talk) 18:31, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
