Thanks for your message; I'll have a look at the article and your comments, and see if I can come up with anything useful. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:22, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Are you watching this article? Extensive work in the past few months. What do you think of what we have done? Tom Haws 19:07, May 4, 2005 (UTC)

Hello Tom. I checked it and its looks way better than before. At least it states what the list is and how it was put together without attempting anything nasty beyond that. Tell me, why do you think is the reason that anticult advocates like these lists so much? ≈ jossi ≈ 22:08, May 4, 2005 (UTC)
It supports their bias. --AI 06:07, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello== SW == What sw are you using to do the digital paintings? Very nice brush work. -SV|t 01:51, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you... I use several tools, mainly:
  • Studio Artist (Mac only) [1]
  • Corel Painter IX
  • Photoshop CS
Usually it is a result achieved by of using these three tools at one time or another...
You can see a gallery of my work at http://jossif.deviantart.com/gallery/
Are you into digital paintings? ≈ jossi ≈ 02:55, May 7, 2005 (UTC)

plato

[edit]

Jossi, the Plato article is looking for a diagram of Plato's allegory of the cave to replace the strange illustration we have now. Are you interested in creating one? I could fax you a sample/schematic from a textbook. See poll on Talk:Plato --goethean 14:35, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I will be glad to help/ ≈ jossi ≈ June 28, 2005 03:45 (UTC)

Guru-Shishya parampara

[edit]

I'll watch the article and check the veracity, when I find sometime today. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 03:36, August 4, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Jossi. I made a few edits to the article to add a couple of examples of Guru-Shishya tradition. Will come back to it after sometime as I'm busy with several wiki and non-wiki issues. However, I see that overall the article is good except for minor formatting issues. All the best. Will chime in as necessary. Rope in Dab and User:Subramanian if possible. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 08:44, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Cut and paste page moves

[edit]

Please don't cut and paste page move something.... Sasquatch 04:58, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

It could not be moved becase it was redirected. If that is not the way to do it, how do you do a move? Your help would be appreciated. ≈ jossi ≈ 05:00, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

An admin (like me) can fix it. Just don't touch the pages for one second while I fix this. We need to perserve edit history as part of GDFL guidelines. Sasquatch 05:02, August 13, 2005 (UTC)
You can do it over at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, help clear out the double redirect at [[2]]. Thanks and happy editing! Sasquatch 05:06, August 13, 2005 (UTC) nevermind that, got bored and did it meself. Regards and happy editing! Sasquatch 05:14, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

I responded to your request for making a comment on the dispute @ Talk:Prem Rawat. Please note that I do not check this account to often. If you want my assistance in the future, email me. --Senegal 02:06, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have a lot of trouble working on the PR pages, because the discussion is so tedious. I am not sure what is going on most of the time. There is a great deal there I would like to change, but knowing how to do it, how to discuss it, and how to defend it, is difficult. --04:54, 7 October 2005 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Armeisen (talkcontribs)

list of digital artists

[edit]

A couple months ago I had added a poor link to the Digital Art page. I have a list of prominent digital artists on my website, but instead of linking that page directly I had linked to the main page of my website. It looks like you removed that link, and rightly. However, I do think my list of digital artists is a sensible addition to the Digital Art wikipedia page, so I added in a new link to my site, except this time I link the relevant page directly and don't make any reference to myself. I just wanted to give you a heads up so that you don't remove the link this time, or if you do think it should be removed we can discuss it. (note: if you do want to discuss it you should probably get my address from my website and email me)

Hi Jossi! Thanks for your support on my recent RFA! I'm now an administrator, and I wanted to thank you for coming by and casting your vote of confidence in me. I will certainly spend some energy and time out at WP:CP - I think it will be a nice place for me to help out. Thanks again for your support, and I'll see you around the Wiki! --HappyCamper 02:27, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Me too, thanks for your vote of support and kind words at my request for adminship! Coffee 06:58, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

An copyvivo example?

[edit]

The situation you described is sort of a grey area. Do you have a particular example you would like me to look at? Or perhaps you had something in particular in mind? --HappyCamper 02:18, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see now. Well, I don't think Wikipedia really has a written policy on such an issue. However, in this case, we know we are referencing a source that is violating copyright. So, to preserve the integrity of the encyclopedia and to do our part in due diligence, it is best to avoid the reference.
Generally speaking, you should be able to "assume good faith" regarding citations to external sources - after all, we cannot control what someone external to Wikipedia writes! The ideal situation would be to find a better source to cite. I hope this helps! --HappyCamper 03:16, 6 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very kindly for your support for my nomination. I promise your trust will not be misplaced; I may occasionally be slightly buzzed with power, but never drunk. ;) · Katefan0(scribble) 22:38, September 12, 2005 (UTC)

Various religious symbols

[edit]

Hey Jossi,

Nice work on all the graphics you do, but you have me stumped on one of the symbols you have in media:Religious symbols.png

What's the three-swooshed symbol in the lower right corner that looks like a pointed Celtic knot? Is it used in any articles you know of?  :-) RDF talk

That symbol is the lunar Triple goddess symbol, a neo-pagan/ Wicca symbol. I will add it to that article. ≈ jossi ≈ 15:24, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I added it to the List of symbols. RDF talk 16:36, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I intend in the next few days to start a collection of all known religious symbols to the wikimedia commons. ≈ jossi ≈ 16:09, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! :-) RDF talk 16:36, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Category for deletion no consensus?

[edit]

Hi, I replied to your question on my talk page. Who?¿? 23:15, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The three swoosh symbol is also called a Triple Crescent and is a sister symbol to the Triquatra.

"Mind" and "Psyche" rewrite @ Human

[edit]

Could you comment on this RfC? Thanks. ≈ jossi ≈ 20:02, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That is the last bit that needs to be done before we can submit Human to featured article. Do you know of an editor that could do the rewrite? ≈ jossi ≈ 15:32, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I made a great deal of edits to human, and reviewed Talk:List of people who have said that they are gods. I'm not really sure what to say there, or where to say it in that chaotic mess of text. I think such lists are interesting, and yet prone to POV and abuse. The best answer is to specifiy and compartmentalise what is being listed. Manson and Jesus should not be on the same list. Also, the Popes don't claim to be God as a general rule, and practically nobody regards them in such a way w any seriousness; it mainly comes up as a criticism from anti-papists. Let me know what you think,

Sam Spade 20:48, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good job at Human (are we ready for FAC?), and thanks for your comments on List of people who have said that they are gods. That article will be fixable only of editors there collaborate in a more welcoming environment. ≈ jossi ≈ 20:52, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I completely agree, the talk page there seemed hostile, and made me feel like yelling at someone, but I wasn't sure who ;) Sam Spade 20:59, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vanity is not a CSD

[edit]

Plase review the criteria for speedy deletion. Neither "vanity" nor "ad" is a speedy criteria. I removed the tag you added. JesseW, the juggling janitor 22:41, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

Unfortunately, "neologism" isn't either. Jkelly 01:54, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. "Self-admitted neologism/protologism", at least, should be proposed as an additional CSD. If you are planning a proposal, please let me know. Jkelly 01:59, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It may be polite, or politic, to wait until the current proposal to expand CSD to include copyvio is settled. Or perhaps not. In any case, I am not at all sure how one goes about it. User:Bluemoose must know, as he created the current one. Our topic has been at least mentioned before.Jkelly 02:09, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Let's wait until that vote is done and then we can propose it. I will keep an eye on it. ≈ jossi ≈ 02:21, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
