My RfA

Thank you very much for giving your support to my admin application, which recently closed successfully (36/3/1). I hope I can continue to justify the confidence that you have placed in me. If there is any way that I can help out more, please drop me a line. Thanks again. - 52 Pickup (deal) 22:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A place for knowledge

You recently placed a tag on the King Hadrada page, stating that it was a hoax. Well, King Hadrada was a real person, and the other edit, I didn't create. I am going to learn about Hadrada and try again and I hope to get some help from you administrators. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Camoq (talkcontribs) 06:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note, I am not an administrator. But I am a rollbacker. NHRHS2010 11:17, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited!

New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday March 16th, Columbia University area
Last: 1/13/2008
This box: view  talk  edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, and have salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).

Well also make preparations for our exciting Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, a free content photography contest for Columbia University students planned for Friday March 28 (about 2 weeks after our meeting).

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

You're also invited to subscribe to the public Wikimedia New York City mailing list, which is a great way to receive timely updates.
This has been an automated delivery because you were on the invite list. BrownBot (talk) 03:17, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

File:David,larry.JPG My RFA
Thank you muchly for your support in my recent request for adminship, which was successfully closed on 76%, finishing at 73 supports, 23 opposes and 1 neutral. The supports were wonderful, and I will keep in mind the points made in the useful opposes and try to suppress the Larry David in me! Now I'm off to issue some cool down blocks, just to get my money's worth!

Kidding btw. All the best, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 11:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Riana's request for bureaucratship

Dear NHRHS, thank you for taking part in my RfB. As you may know, it was not passed by bureaucrats.
I would, however, like to thank you for taking the time to voice your support, despite concerns cited by the opposition. Although RfA/B isn't really about a person, but more about the community, I was deeply touched and honoured by the outpouring of support and interest in the discussion. I can only hope that you don't feel your opinion was not considered enough - bureaucrats have to give everyone's thoughts weight.
I also hope that the results of this RfB lead to some change in the way we approach RfBs, and some thought about whether long-entrenched standards are a good thing in our growing and increasingly heterogenous community.
I remain eager to serve you as an administrator and as an editor. If at any point you see something problematic in my actions, please do not hesitate to call me out. ~ Riana 12:40, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Secaucus Junction cattail sculpture pic

As a courtesy, I'm letting you know that I replaced it with a picture I took that I think is a little better ... it was taken at night so the contrast from the daylight doesn't kill the picture and you can see the colors more. See here.

You'll notice, also, that it is licensed as fair use. You may not have realized this when you uploaded your picture to Commons, but pictures of copyrighted statues, sculptures, murals and other public art cannot be free images as we don't yet have full freedom of panorama in this country (At least we can shoot architecture!). Yes, even when you take them yourself. So eventually it's likely that someone at Commons will mark the image for deletion.

Don't take this personally. You gave me a barnstar once for the work I do, and correspondingly I very much appreciate the work you do on articles related to the greater NY/NJ area. Daniel Case (talk) 08:48, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

East Saddle River Road (New Jersey)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article East Saddle River Road (New Jersey), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of East Saddle River Road (New Jersey). B. warning vandals

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Paul the Apostle: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Enigma msg! 19:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was the one who reverted the vandalism on Paul the Apostle, and I usually warn vandals, but I didn't warn that user because I thought you already did. I have been here on Wikipedia for a year already, my first edit day is coming soon, which is March 19. NHRHS2010 19:47, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a friendly heads up on West Saddle River Road (New Jersey). I removed your prod tag, as it does meet Wikipedia:Notability_(Places_and_transportation)#Streets_and_roads. I was accused of vandalism. It was not me that left rude comments on the James Edgar Walker page. I tried to correct the page. I also want to add the names of his wives and THREE children. I would never leave rude comments on a page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lady Bagnall (talkcontribs) 15:55, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
