[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 14:39, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia's policies. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information.

Deleted Article 'ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling'

[edit]

I intended to write this on your talk page, but as I'm blocked, I wasn't able to.

This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 17:34, 21 December 2009 Orangemike (talk | contribs) deleted "ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling" ‎ (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

You were quite quick deleting the article I wrote on ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling (formerly 'Beton- und Monierbau'). You didn't give me much time and hardly any chance to correct anything you might think, was 'unambiguous advertising or promotion'. If you had a look on other construction companies, you might have seen, that those articles were very similar to the one I wrote.

Selfcriticism: Maybe the 'Activities'-Section was too much from your point of view? But: This could have been deleted instead of the whole article.

The company clearly fulfills one of the criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia with a revenue in 2008 of above 100 mio and will exceed this limit clearly in 2009! Yes, I am an employee of this company (COI), but writing this article I relied on the structure of other construction companies' articles here on wikipedia to write from a neutral point and relied on audited accounts and commercial register certificates. I like my job and my company and decided to spend my Sunday afternoon (!!!) to write an article on Wikipedia, because I thought, it was worth mentioning ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling here (>100 Mio revenue from tunnelling only!). As our name was changed recently (Dec 17), there are certainly few others who might be able to contribute to this article with current information.

Could you please explain explain your action. What can I do to re-include the article? What can I do to un-block my account? Thanks in advance Merry Christmas --joehanncsad2717 (talk) 01:31, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I had a look into some of the FAQs-Sections I am a bit wiser (perhaps)...

I am inexperienced in writing article on Wikipedia. Please help a noob :)

1. ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling (formerly 'Beton- und Monierbau' or 'BeMo' earlier even 'BuM' 'you may understand with the abbreviation 'BuM' was changed') is notable enough to deserve an article and was mentioned in may articles and books published by e.g. client we built tunnels and other underground structures for, tunnelling associations, tunnelling magazines (T&T, NCE, etc.)

Articles on 'BeMo' now 'ABT':

NCE magazine on Crossrail in London

Austrian newspaper on the purchase of BeMo by ALPINE

BeMo in BBMV JV

Article on Pfaendertunnel by ASFINAG (client)

and there are even more examples, if you want...

2. Independent Editor: Maybe I should request, that an independent editor creates an article like stated somewhere in the FAQs, but who? Could you forward the page to an editor or to me so that I can forward the article (no I have no copies - all my work is lost - nevertheless I'm not going to start to swear here using 4-letter-words) myself as soon as I have found an editor.

3. I just read about the 'requested article' and want to try it there as soon as I'm unlocked.

1. On your user page, disclose your relationship to the organization.
2. Go to Wikipedia:Requested articles and find a category under which to list your request.
3. Describe the very basics of what your company is, no more than a couple of lines, and avoid puffery. Be up-front about your conflict of interest by mentioning it in the request.
4. Find at least two independent reliable sources that have substantial information about the topic, and provide links to them in the request.
...

I put a request for article in at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Business and Economics/Businesses and Organizations#A. That original, on the other hand, was still an advertisement. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:00, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, btw: What are the next steps until I'm unblocked? --joehanncsad2717 (talk) 10:53, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
