Disambiguation link notification for November 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of programs previously broadcast by Cartoon Network, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Devlin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hand-coding
Hey all :).
I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).
You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyeswikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).
If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:38, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Whisternefet. I've noticed your interest in Cartoon Network-related articles, and I wanted to know if you'd like to join the Cartoon Network work group. The group isn't that active, but if we can get more people to join, maybe it can rise from the dead. Orphaned non-free media (File:BlipLogo.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:BlipLogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:09, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Adult Swim edit war
Please, i am just trying to restore the original page, which is much more informative. The user Wikipedical is doing the same thing I am doing, only with his own version of the article, which keeps getting uploaded. He really started this war (not trying to be a tattle-tail; just trying to make a point), and the page that I keep uploading is in fact the original page (I am only undoing his decisions, as he cannot make large scale changes without any kind of discussion or agreement; if you do not believe me, check history), but this has just been going on for too long (since mid December), and it is very understandable many users are upset with me. I want this war to end more than anyone probably, though Wikipedical's edits truly infuriate me with their lack of information, and, along with the fact that he is disobeying a rule, gives me permission to make these changes. I do not own the article, and I am well aware of that, but really, neither does Wikipedical, and therefore, should not make changes of massive natures without discussion (I am in fact discussing this currently on the talk page, by the way). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.121.222.242 (talk) 21:39, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Nick at Nite logo 2012.svg
Thank you for uploading File:Nick at Nite logo 2012.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:23, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm EvergreenFir. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to List of Gravity Falls episodes because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! EvergreenFir (talk) 01:32, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- My apologies. I misunderstood your edit. That particular page has been subject to regular vandalism in the past month and I did not take the appropriate time to review your edit. That was my mistake. And I will be more careful about templating the regulars. Thank you and again sorry. EvergreenFir (talk) 22:05, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- To follow up, is there any way we can keep the episode summaries on that list? I see summaries are included on [[Gravity falls (season 1)], but the ones originally on List_of_Gravity_Falls_episodes were direct quotes with citation (which seems better to me). Or is it against some style rules? EvergreenFir (talk) 22:12, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- That does help, I am just used to Wikia's standards where quotations with references are acceptable. To me, those quotes were within Wikipedia's limits as they were short, put in quotation marks, and cited. But I will defer to your judgement on this as I am relatively new to Wikipedia. Thanks again! EvergreenFir (talk) 22:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
Just to chime in again... I don't think we know the production codes for all the episodes definitively yet. Not sure if that's a problem, but just wanted to say something. These are the only ones we have sources on: here. Keep up the great work though! EvergreenFir (talk) 04:13, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

AVGN Episodes Writing Credits
I know you got the information from IMDB, but I think IMDB is wrong on this one (also I remember James Rolfe once saying not to believe any information about his movie that was on IMDB, that it was very inaccurate).
All the writing on AVGN episodes is by James Rolfe alone. There is often a "Illustrations/Help : Mike Matei" in the opening credits of each episode, but that's it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Diegowar (talk • contribs) 2013-09-08T20:04:50
- I just changed it, thanks for telling me, I just suspected that Matei had some level of involvement, as Rolfe said in "The Making of an Angry Video Game Nerd Episode", but I guess not. — Whisternefet (talk/contribs) 20:10, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Off the Air
First of all I'm really impressed by the article you made for "Dan Deacon: U.S.A.". However I disagree with your formatting with the episode table for the main page, maybe we could discuss this and reach a consensus. Grapesoda22 (talk) 01:55, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, regarding the article. As for the main page, what about it do you disagree with? — Whisternefet (t · c) 02:10, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Mainly just the formatting of the episode table. Grapesoda22 (talk) 02:18, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- I thought that the episode tables, or more specifically the listings of featured videos and songs, were getting in the way of the actual article itself, prose and all. I would have split the episodes into another article, but that would leave the main page with barely any content or references (because unfortunately the series, barring the special, is barely covered anywhere). I compromised this by just collapsing all that content, as is with the templates like {{Track listing}}. It's not perfect, but it makes the article easier to navigate through, and doesn't put too much undue weight onto content of the episodes itself. — Whisternefet (t · c) 02:27, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Mainly just the formatting of the episode table. Grapesoda22 (talk) 02:18, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- My main disagreement was you changing the sizes of each columns in the table, I'd prefer the way I set it up as it appears cleaner and more legible. Another issue was you putting the Dan Deacon special in the second season listings and changing the order of "Robots" and "Nature". Making the episode info colapseable wasn't that big of an issue, but I do have two other ideas you could do to make the main page better. Grapesoda22 (talk) 03:03, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- If legibility for the columns are an issue for then go ahead, but it looks fine on my end. According to multiple TV episode guides, the special is part of season 2 (here and here). The order of "Nature" and "Robots", although out of order in production, is correct as far as being chronological is concerned. What are the other suggestions you have in mind? — Whisternefet (t · c) 03:19, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Adult Swim, IMDB, even the second link you mentioned state "Dan Deacon" was a special. And the reference for the third season given on the page itself states "Nature" is episode two, and on Wikipedia the ordering goes by the official order, not necessarily the order they aired. (see List of Futurama episodes, most episodes aired out of order and are listed in production order). Also... and you might not like this but maybe consider taking down the "Dan Deacon" page and merging it with the main page so there is more notable cited material to help it. Also consider making an indepent episode list but having the list's "outline" on the main page so there's a sufficient amount of content. Grapesoda22 (talk) 03:28, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- I see your first two points and will try to append those to my revision. I do no think that merging the special would benefit though, it would appear tangential to the article as all the critical reception only addresses the episode alone. As for splitting the list the way you described it, I'm going to see if that is possible. I attempted that in the past but encountered problems with transclusioning. — Whisternefet (t · c) 03:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

- I'm second guessing the separate list idea myself I could just do it for you if you really want to tonight. I'm just saying it would be nice to have a reception section on the main page and it might be worth considering a merge. I honestly think that the "Dan Deacon" article is in better condition then the main article, which is somewhat unsettling to me. Its what I would do but Off the Air is more your baby. Grapesoda22 (talk) 03:53, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've attempt it myself before so I wouldn't be uncomfortable but I guess if you feel up to it then go for it. And lol, I think it's a neat show but I wouldn't call it my own (even if I could). I just figured there was a lot of information out there about the special to support its own article. The series is relatively unnoticed on the network and any coverage it gets is either too underground (and thus unreliable) or passing mentions. The special seemed to be copiously promoted around music journalist sites though, being musical. — Whisternefet (t · c) 04:19, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- You could just mention some reception points on the main article to give information to the reader. And I do gotta say I'm surprised that a show like Off the Air is hitting the 1 million viewer mark on some episode, considering its an obscure show that airs at 4AM.
- Sure I guess, I'll also keep savaging Google for anything reliable. I was also surprised to see the viewership that high; insomnia must be on the rise. :P — Whisternefet (t · c) 05:13, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Are you happy?
Are you happy with the current status of Off the Air and the episode list. There was issue with the "outline transfer", and I contested the use of the collapsible video/music option mainly because the only point was to shorten the main article, but because the episodes have their own page I think it works. But in general what do you think? Grapesoda22 (talk) 07:03, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- I think it works much better now, good work. — Whisternefet (t · c) 22:59, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Use i-tag for italics
I replied twice to use "<i>xx</i>" at "wp:VPT#Italics in citation title broken" to allow italics in that parameter "title=<i>Italic Words</i> Non-italic part" for {cite_web}; however, my reply was twice deleted by hostile user Matma_Rex who seems to edit-war a lot in that noticeboard. Also, {cite_journal} (etc.) has been fixed to allow day-ranges, such as date=4-5 May 2013, without triggering the date-error category for a cite. -Wikid77 (talk) 15:50, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Your edit to Napoleon Dynamite tv series
Hello, I apologize, but I had to revert your recent edits to Napoleon Dynamite (TV series). While a helpful edit filling out the refs, it undid a lot of stuff I just changed (Sources I just added removed, removing archived copies of links, adding/removing information in general, etc.) Me5000 (talk) 06:04, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

New section
In reference to the recent problem with the Snow Business (company) page. I would like to know what exactly it was that you found To be inappropriate with it so that it is possible to Edit it Again so that It is more descriptive but also expectable. I understand that some of it was most probably inappropriate seeing as it was the first time I have used wikipedia's edit function. But it is to me rather dishearting as it took me an entire working day to create and it was then changed so completely without any effort to simply rephrase any promotional parts so that it was unbiased. Ruf3n (talk) 12:05, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if you feel disheartened from the project, but a bulk of what was added to the article was completely without citations, which is core to Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Perhaps calling it promotional was a failing in my part to assume good faith, and I'm sorry, but a lot of the information added seemed trivial and written in a way that seems as though it was written through the point of view of an employee of the company. Should that be true, it would go against Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline.
- If you have any reliable secondary sources to substantiate what you've added, however, that would be a good first step into integrating such content into the article. I hope finding such resources won't be to much of a struggle, and if you need any more help, maybe check out the new contributors' help page and the reference desk. – 23W (talk · contribs) 17:47, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Primary sources for Napoleon Dynamite?
I removed the source for the characters, as it was a primary source and was broken anyways. Me5000 has added it back, thinking the only issue was that the link was broken, so added an archive.org link. I think we should drop it, but I wonder what we should do—there may be enough info in the sources to cite it, but then it's kinda redundant to the info in the premise. Given the character bios are so short, I was thinking maybe we should drop them entirely and move the photos to the Premise section (and possibly expand the character descriptions there?). What do you think? Curly Turkey ⚞¡gobble!⚟ 22:55, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, been out a couple of days. Didn't Me5000 retire? lol. I did what you suggested, and then some: tell me what you think. I had to shrink the gallery in size, as it was getting squished near the infobox. – 23W (talk · contribs) 05:57, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- That infobox is far too long & dominant on such a short page. What do you think of dropping "Developed by"? I'd even drop "Original language(s)", since we know it's American. Also, we've got "Related shows: Napoleon Dynamite (film)"—?!? We could drop "Chronology" entirley by dropping that non sequitur. Also, "Format: Animated series", since we already have "Genre: Animated sticom". Curly Turkey ⚞¡gobble!⚟ 06:05, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Oh, and I think that now that two of the reviewers have invalidated themselves by adopting the article, it's unlikely that we'll get enough reviewers to support it before it gets archived. We'll likely have to renominate. Curly Turkey ⚞¡gobble!⚟ 06:10, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sure looks like it. Shame, since the nominator seemed to squeeze every source there is on the show so far. – 23W (talk · contribs) 06:18, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- It's not such a shame—it was quite a bit of work getting it into shape, and I'm surprised it hasn't been archived already. A lot of potential reviewers ahve probably been scared off; a fresh renomination will probably be good. We could withdraw it now and renominate it sooner (have to wait two weeks after archival either way). Curly Turkey ⚞¡gobble!⚟ 07:56, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
Steven Universe episodes
Why are you redirecting the episodes? The articles you've made are sufficiently and reliably sourced. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 16:47, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- @TenPoundHammer: I think they fail the general notability guideline. Significant coverage is pretty much limited to a couple of references for reception, with a lot of primary sources elsewhere. I tried mirroring other good episode articles, but I think it has a long way to go as far as the quality of coverage is concerned. Some people seem to like them, so I'm probably being an idiot; perhaps I should take them to AfD for broader consensus. – 23W (talk · contribs) 02:00, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

I've been plunking away at "Is That You?" and "Dentist" in my sandbox, and I honestly think there's enough material there to make full articles for at least those two episodes (there's some info in Art of Ooo book that I'm pretty sure could also beef up the "Jake the Brick" article, too).--Gen. Hi. Thanks for the comment regarding Temperatures Rising. What is stated about who can review the article is thus: "Further reviews are welcome from any editor who has not contributed significantly to this article (or nominated it), and can be added to the review page, but the decision whether or not to list the article as a good article should be left to the first reviewer." So perhaps your statement is right. However, I think I'll let what I wrote stand as it is as it's not so much a review as it is a brief history of the article's progress and a request for further reviews.
