Welcome!

[edit]

I am a researcher at Satyendra Nath Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. My area of interest is computational chemistry. I study atomistic and electronic structure models of small molecules, materials and chemical reactions using quantum or classical mechanics. I also study biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids, and their interactions with small molecules. How the drug molecules work, why they cease to work and how we can develop new drugs are the areas I explore through my research.

I edit Wikipedia and I donate 100 every month to Wikimedia Foundation. Please consider making a donation of ₹100, ₹200, ₹300 or whatever you can to protect and sustain Wikipedia. For one time donation click here. For monthly recurring donation click here.

Alma mater

[edit]

I attended Presidency College, Kolkata of the University of Calcutta for my undergraduate studies and I have earned a bachelor's degree with honours in physiology from there in 2008. Then I went to the University College of Science, Technology and Agriculture of the University of Calcutta and completed my master's degree in biophysics & molecular biology in 2010. After that, I joined the doctoral research programme of the CSIR - Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB) under INSPIRE Fellowship programme of Department of Science and Technology (India) in 2011. Got registered as a doctoral student in the Department of Chemistry of Jadavpur University. Defended my thesis there in the August of 2016.

My research works

[edit]

Full text of the published research articles are available from my ResearchGate profile.

My editorial works

[edit]

I have edited and published two issues of the little magazine, Reminiscence. It is a bilingual magazine and includes the articles in English and বাংলা languages. The electronic versions are freely available online. Reminiscence, Issue I & II can be read at Issuu by following the links given below:

  • Reminiscence, Issue I at Issuu

Other compilations

[edit]

I have compiled and published two ebooks authored by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. One is Gitanjali (Song Offerings), a collection of poems rendered into English by the poet himself, for which he was given the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. The other one is a philosophical work by Tagore, Sadhana: The Realization of Life, a compilation of lectures given to the Harvard students in 1913. These ebooks are freely available online.
