General

[edit]

Wikipedia Article Circle (or WAC) is a term refering to when a Wikipedia user searches for an article, then clicks on a link on that page, and continually clicks on links from the new pages until they arrive back at their original page they started on. An example would be someone searched "fish." Now they decide to click on the "vertebrate" link on the "fish" article, then they click on the "hagfish" link on the vertebrate article, then click on the "fish" link in the "hagfish" article. The user has now returned to the original "fish" article, thus completing a full Wikipedia Article Circle.

Origin

[edit]

The origin of the Wikipedia Article Circle came from the Wikipedia user MikeEricksen. However, it is not a well-known term and because of this, it is not recognized as and offical term by Wikipedia.
