clarification

[edit]

What's the difference between estates and new towns? anybody?

A New Town has a centrally planned town centre, as well as commercial, residential and industrial zones and usually consist of several neigbourhoods with many blocks.

A housing estate is much smaller than a New Town, for example Simei and Marine Parade do not have as many blocks as Bedok or Tampines, and a Housing Estate does not really include much of what the New Town has for facilities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fonduelazone (talkcontribs) 15:19, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
