[edit]- 9 March 1942 detached from TF 17 & TF 11 covered Louisiade Archipelago securing carriers right flank and cover Port Moresby reinforcement convoy, rejioned TF 17 & TF 11 on 14 March.
- 10 April from Sydney joined TF 17 as TG 17.3.
- 7 May patrolled Jomard Passage, detached from TF 17. Attacked by Genzan kokutai and 4th kokutai attacked by B-26s
- June sweeps Coral Sea and on convoy escort duty between Australia, New Zealand, Esp. Santo, Noumea
- 19 July renumbered to TG 62.6.
- 18 February 1943 - covered convoy carrying 9th Infantry Division to Sydney
