For the amusement of anyone reading this obscure talk page, the Australian version of this game shipped with the CDs incorrectly labelled and also included a text file that referred to 'fanboys with no lives' repeatedly.. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.175.7.79 (talk) 00:40, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

[edit]How much does this game go for these days? I was looking around for a free one but I guess thats gonna be harder than I thought.
I probably wont answer but for further education of newer pc gamers looking for some oldschool whoop-arse.
Usually available on e-bay for $10 to $20. Runs fine on my Windows XP network. The game is technically superior to the previous in the series because of multi player support. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.94.136.50 (talk) 14:39, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
XvT unique in it's use cutscenes to advance plots?
[edit]Hardly. Dungeons and dragons games long used this device/technique, as well as The Elder Scrolls: Arena and Daggerfall.
Heck, XvT wasn't even unique among space combat sims in this aspect, Wing Commander 3 and 4 both preceded XvT and both used FMV cutscenes to advance the plot.
What's this"Flight School" XvT?
[edit]Is the XvT collector edition you refer to the same version that I have: "X-wing vs. TIE Fighter: The Academy"?
Overzealous spam filter?
[edit]I tried adding an external link to an OPT database for graphical XvT ship upgrades and other mods, and then a Wikipedia spam filter kicked in for *another* link in the external links section about the Czech XvT site, that also looked like a useful news site for XvT community news. I was never given information about what to do about it to prevent the spam blocker from kicking in when I was trying to submit my changes? What gives and how can one edit the page now without removing information? I don't even know who's responsible for this filter to send my complaints to. -- Northgrove 13:51, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Multiplayer client
[edit]The Errant Venture is no longer being used (or at least very rarely compared to a year ago). The new location for matchmaking is done at the Voobly website, and this can be confirmed by all of the regular people who play this game online, i.e. members of clubs "The Rebel Alliance", "TIE Fighter Alliance", etc.
I believe this should be updated on the page accordingly.

Alternative Identifier
[edit]This game seems to go by the moniker "TIE95" so it would be good to add a redirect from that, I don't know how to do such a thing though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.9.197.146 (talk) 10:46, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
