replacement house

[edit]
Photo from 2013 of replacement house at Allsup House's location

The NRHP-listed house is gone, was demolished; this is noted at wp:NRIS info issues ID, which should be used as the basis for working with Idaho SHPO people to get it delisted from the National Register, along with other updates/corrections from that page.

Hey, we don't want the article to include a pic of the different house that replaced the Allsup House. At least definitely not in the NRHP infobox. That pic is not a pic of the NRHP-listed resource! At this moment, the 2013 file is (incorrectly) named "MARION ALLSUP HOUSE, BOISE, ADA COUNTY.jpg" but I will put in a request at Commons for it to be renamed to something else. --Doncram (talk) 01:36, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I went to go do that (to follow instructions for requesting renaming that are recorded at wp:NRHPHELP#Fixing Commons names and descriptions of photos) but then i see there are two additional photos there now, from 2019, contributed by User:Tamanoeconomico. And they are labelled and described as if the original cottage was not demolished, but rather was expanded. What gives? The description given at Commons for the first is:

The Marion Allsup House (1901) in Boise, Idaho, was designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house also is part of the Fort Street Historic District, although its 1982 listing as a 1-story cottage with pyramid roof is inconsistent with its present 2-story appearance.

Hey, it seems more likely to me that the original cottage was demolished and replaced, or that the modifications were so much that the building should no longer be called "Marion Allsup House". (And we should put in a request to Idaho SHPO to have it delisted, but that would take a while, perhaps years.) In which case, now, all three of these photos should be renamed to variations upon "House at 1601 N. 10th in Boise Idaho.jpg", and their descriptions should be modified to explain, and the NRHP refnum and NRHP categories should be dropped. But I don't really know what to do. I haven't tried to really compare all the old vs. recent photos. Do we personally think the current building is still adequately reflective of the old one's architecture, that it should stay NRHP-listed?
User:Tamanoeconomico, what do you think? Please comment (and ping me if possible). --Doncram (talk) 01:56, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
