Christine's text is not an early representation of transgenderism, but an expression just how difficult it was to get anything done as a woman at that time. The only way a woman could conduct her own affairs and have autonomy and not be leered at was by... being a man. Christine is talking metaphorically. And she was she. Not they. Well, that's your opinion, which you're perfectly entitled to hold. However, we do have scholarly sources that discuss Christine with regard to transgender identity/studies, so we mention it in this article. -- asilvering (talk) 15:09, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
