Is this the best you could do? think-aboutit.com? about.com? godchecker.com? Pretty weak group of references. Couldn't you find something a bit more authoritive? --Jerry (Talk) 04:59, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does a 1.5-4 thousand year old pictograph from a canyon wall count as a credible reference? (This particular pictograph hasn't been carbon dated, but that's the approximate range of dates for similar panels in the region that have been.) --Mk421 05:25, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such thing as Sint holo in the choctaw language http://books.google.com/books?id=QeCla6ddQckC&pg=PA561&lpg=PA561&dq=sinti+lapitta&source=web&ots=4B_QXPYEL4&sig=c3eEBw17mYuSXErXBRmWZeqRmMg&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result its Sinti lapitta Sint holo means Cent Socks literally, they are only found as two separate words in this dictionary —Preceding unsigned comment added by Weaponbb7 (talkcontribs) 16:27, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

[edit]

I propose that we merge the Horned Serpent and Uktena articles and develop the articles from there, instead of having two stub articles. In the future, once the article is much more fully developed, we can then discuss about splitting the articles off. CJLippert 21:17, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me.--Mk421 04:41, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The two have beeen merged. The Uktena article page now redirect to this article. CJLippert (talk) 15:56, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rock Art

[edit]

Isn't the "rock art" image quite clearly a serpent with extended tounge? I see no horns on it. Xavius, the Satyr Lord (talk) 19:39, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you're talking about the petroglyph, I might agree with you on that. --Mk421 (talk) 23:28, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Various Vipers have horns, as well as other snakes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.179.56 (talk) 23:02, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two articles blended?

[edit]

I feel. this article is two or three stubs that have been shoe horned together imperfectly. This article opens with a statement about the importance of horned serpents in Native American cultures, but the article itself brings up examples of horned serpents found in other cultures. Shouldn't the opening sentence be something more along the lines of "Horned serpents are referenced in many cultures including..." so present a balanced and more generalized opening??
