Bass Players
[edit]Jaco is named as player on only one track. who plays the others then ?
Yeah - If that's not Jaco on the other tracks, it's an amazing imitator. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.18.33.169 (talk) 03:01, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- The listing means to say that Pastorius plays bass on the whole record (or every track that has bass), and, additionally, bongos on "The Tenth World" and cowbells on "Dreamland." I think it's clear, but you can certainly edit it for additional clarity if you disagree. Patricia Meadows (talk) 15:35, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Pastorius's "bass note"
[edit]This "bass note" Pastorius drops; is it that really low note, or the one after that which slides into "Cotton Avenue"? --Matharvest 04:00, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Not, in my opinion, a "Stub", as I've come to read "Stub"
[edit]Okay, I don't know from "templates", and how they disqualify entries from full-fledged status, but formatting aside, this is not half-bad coverage of an important album. Admittedly, it hits the so-called "weasel words" a little too hard (examples upon request, but you should be able to see them for yourselves, readers). The article could use at least SOME solid references, which it seems to lack, but which should not be hard to come by.
Would a lurker/editor like to sneak in and do a little tweaking with the formatting? I don't believe this work deserves the stub "stigma". I could be wrong, though. Relgif 13:24, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Joni DJRD.jpg
[edit]Image:Joni DJRD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Overhaul on August 22, 2008
[edit]I found the article to be ill-organized and poorly written. I deleted the unnecessary text and re-wrote much of the rest. Patricia Meadows (talk) 17:00, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- My recent overhaul was an attempt to clarify exactly what in this album was experimental. 210.49.191.9 has added back in "Otis and Marlena," "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" and "Off Night Backstreet" under the section I've titled, "Experimental."
- None of the additions are experimental -- not by Joni Mitchell standards, and especially not by the standards set by the tracks I've already highlighted. To say a track is about "a disastrous love affair" is not the same as saying the track is experimental. The additions do not belong.
- I welcome further discussion. Until then, I have reverted the edits made by 210.49.191.9. Patricia Meadows (talk) 03:54, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
"Native Americans"
[edit]With all due respect to Native Americans, Paprika Plains actually refers to the Canadian town of Maidstone, Saskatchewan (I was wrong about Saskatoon - it's her hometown of Maidstone that has a Railway Avenue), so the article should mention Aboriginal Canadians or First Nation Canadians. I have just added archive links to one external link on Don Juan's Reckless Daughter. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
