Contested deletion
[edit]The article is linked from Decimal, Quinary, Pama–Nyungan languages, and Gurnditjmara language. There is not much content, it's a stub, but it does provide alternative names found in the lit, a classification, location, indication that it's extinct, and a link to Linguist List, which maintains a code for the language and lists additional references for it. Because Ethnologue does not (it's been extinct too long), the reader may have some trouble finding what it is those articles are supposed to be linking to if this stub is deleted. — kwami (talk) 06:54, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
OK. I understand the preserving of Aboriginal languages is very important. I'm sorry for doing that. I also just realized that you're an admin and I'm just a main user so I really shouldn't have done that. Again, sorry. :) --Albert7777 (Talk) 09:47, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- Me being an admin has nothing to do with it. If I write a useless article, it should still be deleted! I just don't see this as useless, even if it is minimal. — kwami (talk) 11:32, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Major Edits required
[edit]This page needs major edits including a new title. Kuurn Kopan Noot is but the name of singular dialect of this language continuum. Kuurn Kopan Noot has designated as a cover term by Linguist Bob Dixon, however there are other academics such as Barry Blake that label the continuum differently. Kuurn Kopan Noot it also not reflective of the way the language is refereed to by the community. The language is described as extinct but there are significant efforts underway to revive this language and its various forms. {Katjakarr (talk) 10:30, 24 January 2021 (UTC)}
- Hi Katjakarr. I've started a bit of work on this page and moved it to Dhauwurd Wurrung, the term preferred by AIATSIS. It requires more work to flesh out the body, add citations to support all the names in the lead (WP:LEADFOLLOWSBODY), and various other tweaks to conform to the Wiki style guide. I'll probably come back and do a bit more tweaking, but please feel free to add more content. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:07, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
