Sencer Yeralan was born in 1955, Kayseri Turkiye and moved to the United States at the age of four. He developed an early interest in science, mathematics, and engineering. He pursued his higher education in these fields, earning degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering, culminating in a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 1983.
