Get around

edit

Bring water shoes and swim pants. Time your visit for low tide. While some crossings may have footpaths (downed trees), the most important crossing from Dau to Nan Douwas (the main islet with the primary ruin) will require wading across the water.

See the main ruin on Nan Douwas along with ancillary ruins and the sea wall on adjacent islets.

Take a walk on the Nan Madol footpath in and out of Nan Madol. Occasionally, find a kayak operator who can give you a ride from Dau to Nan Douwas in exchange for a few dollars.

Bring your own food and drink.
