A barnstar for you!
editThe Excellent New Editor's Barnstar A new editor on the right path | ||
For your creation of a much needed article (Kora Organics), I award you this barnstar. You are still relatively new, so I guess this is an appropriate barnstar. Acalycine(talk/contribs) 07:39, 12 May 2014 (UTC) |
Ofer Berkovitch - pay proper attribution
editHi Roth3nyk, Greetings. Please note that WP:PATT (pay proper attribution) is needed when you copied and pasted the content of other languages to English Wikpedia as you are not the original of the content in the English Wikipedia as per the article above. Please write the article in you own words to avoid copy right infringement and / or given WP:PATT. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:26, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
- CASSIOPEIA Hi there, thanks for your note! I am a bit of a novice editor here, so I appreciate the feedback but I'd love to better understand exactly what I was / am supposed to for cases like this in the future. From what I'm reading on both WP:PATT and WP:TFOLWP, I've followed all of the steps for proper licensing and attribution of the original Hebrew content both in the summary of my initial edit as well as on the Talk page. Is there something else that I've missed? Thanks again! Roth3nyk (talk) 04:23, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Roth3nyk, I saw you have stated the content is copied and pasted in translation from Hebrew Wikipedia. Next time just state the phrase pay proper attribution to the original author in xx (language) Wikipedia WP:PATT. To copy and paste from other Wikipedia sister site is permissible in small doses; however, it would be better to write the article in your own words. I assume you know both language well and it would not difficult for you to do so. By the way, you would use sources in any languages (which means you could use the sources from the Hebrew Wikipedia providing they are considered independent, reliable sources. Thank you for creating article in Wikipedia and if you need further assistance, pls drop me a line on my talk page. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:33, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- OK - no problem. Thanks again for the feedback! Roth3nyk (talk) 04:49, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Drive by tagging
editI noticed at least 1 article, Mike Hopkins (basketball), that you Citation Needed tagged a line. Which was correct usage, buuuuut, probably the same amount of time/effort you could have looked up a source and inserted a ref. Just a suggestion that’s all. 0pen$0urce (talk) 22:14, 26 July 2020 (UTC)
- 0pen$0urce totally fair. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to take a quick look for the source next time before resorting to adding a tag. Please let me know if you see any basketball-related articles that need help in this regard. As you can probably tell from my edit history, I'm a big fan of the sport :) Roth3nyk (talk) 03:45, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Excellent. Same here. Well more so college. The NBA seems to be on Autopilot until February. 0pen$0urce (talk) 17:51, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

- I know this is a bot, but argh! I was trying to figure out where the disambig link was, but I couldn't find it! Live and learn, I guess. Roth3nyk (talk) 20:24, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
