You may have a look at this sandbox. To my mind, this is a whitewashed version of the Elvis article omitting several important facts concerning the singer's life. Hi, Malcolmxl5. Can find no (other than the Wiki one) hits on Google. No mention on any of the West Ham chat pages (and they really do get down to talking about some really trivial stuff) and no mention on WHUFC.com at all and this usually mentions when youth players are signed.

My Guess - this is someone creating an article about themselves or a joke surnamed player? Notice he has added himself to the WHU squad list but with a user name of Giovirus perhaps disruption is to be expected! Maybe the players surname 'Sukhisvili' gives it away?!?!?!

I have found a hatful of reliable sources for Terry Dixon and although he does not meet the inclusion criteria of having played at the fully professional level, I think he meets the primary inclusion criteria by having significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject. Notability criteria for footballers with professional contracts with Premier League clubs and their exclusion from Wiki as they 'have not yet played a game' is one of my least favourite things about Wiki and one where I have been involved in heated discussions before. I have no wish to argue this again with the deletionists.

Personally, I agree with you. There is enough about Dixon (his call-up to the full Irish squad, his U21 appearance, his time/injuries etc with Spurs/West Ham) to have a page about him. Hi, thanks for your thoughts. The reason i flagged up the transfer fee for Savio is (as you say) there has never been a figure quoted from a reliable source, and that any figure and breakdown thereof quoted in the press is speculation at best. I personally feel that we should not include Savio's transfer fee as it currently stands in the article as a) we do not have a reliable source which can confirm this, b) as this apparent fee is possibly dependent on many issues it could be any figure up to the quoted sum.

Also i dont really like to use the term "believed to be" on wikipedia as it is not encyclopaedic.

User ElvisFan1981 is currently removing large blocks of critical information from the Elvis Presley article. See [3] and Talk:Elvis_Presley#There_is_absolutely_no_point_attempting_to_shorten_this_article...... To my mind, this user is whitewashing the article, as only critical material has been deleted. I feel I have a right to defend myself here. I do not know you, egghead06, and I'm sorry that this matter has found its way to your door, but I would like you to take a look at my reply to Onefortyone on the Elvis Presley talkpage and you will hopefully understand why what they have said above is not exactly how it appears. Also, if you would like to take a look at any previous edits I've made to the article then I'm sure you will find that I have added my fair share of neutral/negative opinion to the article, and most of the edits that Onefortyone refers to above are simply paraphrasing content that was a direct quote from a book or article, something that Wikipedia doesn't appreciate. And right now, and for the last four months that Onefortyone has had nothing to do with the article, I and other editors have been attempting to reduce the size of the article because it is considered too large. This, obviously, requires that some information both positive and negative will require removal and/or serious editing. Onefortyone talks about neutral input and yet most of their own input, or rather all of it that I can recall, is completely negative and in no way neutral. They don't seem to be interested in improving the article despite many editors agreeing that it needs done, and also many good editors have left the article over the last 12/18 months because of Onefortyone and their bull-headed approach to it. It seems to me, and others, that the only unreasonable editor on the whole article is Onefortyone themselves, and yet it is them who is always accusing other editors of being unreasonable. This seems to be a never ending story, Egghead06. It is a fact that ElvisFan has removed only critical content from the Legacy section of the Elvis article. Legacy is something handed down from the past by tradition, and a celebrity’s heritage, as you may also call it, is sometimes good and sometimes bad. “As for the Legacy section”, ElvisFan says on the Elvis talk page, “I cannot and will not accept that it should ever mention anything negative about Presley.” So much for this user’s recent edits that removed large blocks of more critical information, or, as ElvisFan claims, with an innocent air, on the Elvis talk page, the “removal of some content, both NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE.” Onefortyone (talk) 02:00, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

What absolute nonsense, and now you have definitely exposed yourself as a liar with only one goal in this whole thing, and that is to target me personally. Are you purposely trying to make yourself look like a fool? That's just my opinion, of course, before you find some way of using that against me.

Why can't you keep this to the talk page on Elvis Presley now? Each one of these people is now aware of it and are quite capable of reading it there in the same way that you or I are. However, seeing as you've put your own spin in this talkpage, then I will do the same for balance and fairness;

I have removed both negative and positive content, there are huge chunks of positive praise that have now been removed from the Legacy section that was there before my recent edits. There were some very positive praises that I've removed from the Acting Section also today, and from a few of the other sections that I've worked on. To say that I have only removed negative content would a downright lie, and you are very aware of that yourself. Just because I have written that "I cannot and will not accept....", does not mean that I will revert any decision to change it back if that is what any mediator decides is best. Again, you are attempting to make something sound worse that it is. And how so convenient that you only seem to copy/paste the content that is critical and in favour of your argument and fail to mention all the positive praise that has been removed/altered from the article in the last four months.

If you are interested in Wikipedia being as good a source as it can be in general and are not primarily focused on Elvis Presley, why don't you head over to the Michael Jackson article and the Freddie Mercury article and every other article that has nothing but positive remarks about their subject in the Legacy sections and tell them exactly what you've just written above about what a Legacy should be? I'm sure you will be able to find many negative things about both artists to fill into their legacy sections. Could it be that you don't actually care at all about any of that and that this is some kind of personal vendetta against only myself because of our previous disagreement four months ago? It seems very strange to me that since then you haven't had any input into any Wikipedia article, and that your very first input on your return is to alter and then personally attack me for some work that I have done to improve an article. How do we rename this article? Nobody calls it 'east london derby', i added east/south east to make it more regionally correct, but nobody calls it that either. Can you change it to Millwall FC and West Ham United FC rivalry? (which there are numerous references for) as per liverpool/man utd and arsenal/chelsea derby pages on here. Good man! Much better title. I'll rename it in the Navbox, people might actually find the article now, realising who it's between. I found that friendly mentioned in your own Thames Ironworks FC article, season 1895/96, but it was unsourced.

Well, the easiest thing to have done would have been to edit your userspace version, and just move it out. Instead, you created a new article. Per our license, your new article was heavily based on the old article, so the histories had to be merged, a process that involves deleting, moving, deleting, and selective undeletion, producing this history. Yes. That area can be referred to as West Ham village to distinguish it from West Ham in the sense that includes Plaistow, Stratford and the like.

Communications between Stratford and Plaistow have been improved by the construction of New Plaistow Road, completed in 1959, which links West Ham Lane and Plaistow Road, by-passing West Ham village. That was part of a redevelopment scheme which also included the widening of Plaistow Road and High Street.

Thanks for your response at the talk page and your recent additions of full stats to the list. You will see I have now completed the column sorting for the top 100, ready for the full stats to be added in. However, before that is done, I thought it worth having a discussion/consideration of what competitions are deemed notable for inclusion in the stats. I assume westhamstats has been used as the basis of stats figures to date, but I have noticed that it includes appearances in tournaments that may not be regarded as notable e.g. Carlton Cole's stats include 2 Friendly appearances and these are currently included in our list. Another competition where it is more arguable that it is notable is the Tennent Caledonian Cup - see my question on this at the Manchester City talk page. Also, I note that Billy Bonds stats include the "Aberdeen Tournament", which I had not heard of before. I propose that a section be added to the article similar to that at List of Doncaster Rovers F.C. players to make it clear which competitions are to be included, and I will have a go at drafting this for the West Ham article shortly. I have now amended the intro and added an explanation section, which indicates what are regarded as notable competitions (and thus to be included in the player stats). You can see the TC Cup is not currently included. Let me know if you have any views on the competitions I've chosen. I have moved 3 of the players from the secondary list to the main list - note that I have marked with a dash any competitions that they could not have played in (as opposed to showing as "0"), as this is more accurate for the reader. I have also not tried to re-order the rankings, as it is not worth it as more players from the secondary list are to be moved over. However, now that the list has changed from being a Top 100 I wonder if it is worthwhile keeping the rank column, as it may not be that useful to show who the #142 player is etc. Maybe an alternative would be to just rank for the top 20 or something? Finally, I have not added flags for the players I have copied over, as it is not clear what the flags are representing. I think it would be better for this column to change to show West Ham internationals i.e. only flags for those who gained full intl' caps whilst with the club. Ranking top 20 good idea - beyond that can't see that anyone would find that interesting or useful. Personally I don't like flags - they confuse people between place of birth and country represented but would be OK with the idea of flags for international players if you think they are OK. As for the tournaments which count for games played - my own view is that any FL, PL or SL games + UEFA European games + FA and League cup would be about it. Aberdeen Tournament, Makita Trophy, Watneys Cup, Full Members and the awful Anglo-Italian Cup plus meaningless pre-season friendlies (now called the SBOBET Cup I believe!) would be out. Rob Greens, Noble's and Cole's figures all include friendlies at the mo. Reckon if a new player would gain notability by playing in the tournament then the appearance stat would be shown in this list. If not then not counted. By the way, some of the stats include those for the 1939-40 season started but not finished. Any views or common ways of dealing with this season? --Egghead06 (talk) 15:23, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

OK, we can proceed with only keeping ranking figures for Top 20. I'm not a fan of flags and my suggestion was based on what was already there. I think for now it would be better if the column is removed, and an International column could potentially be re-added in future. Re the list of notable competitions, I think the FMC and 1990s Anglo-Italian were fully organised Football League competitions and thus notable. Yes, the Watney was a pre-season event although it was one of the first sponsored events, so gained quite a bit of coverage e.g. Rothmans line-ups. The Texaco also got quite a bit of coverage, and you can see from the Wikipedia articles, that it's predecessors eventually became the Football League Trophy. I don't know much about the Anglo-Italian League Cup, although the west ham stats site shows a reasonable attendance. For further background you can see some other list sites that include some of these events e.g. List of Stoke City F.C. players, List of Manchester City F.C. players - not articles where I came up with the list of competitions. Hi Egghead06, with regards to our disagreement on the Carlos Tevez page I thought I would show you the reasonings behind my edits. I haven't been on Wikipedia as much recently as I normally am so I didn't notice the "Loan" saga again till recently, but checking the history of this page I can confirm that the "Loan" statement in the info box which you keep adding has not been a part of this article for a long time. It was re-introduced by user Dom.Lol.Soz on 3 September 2011, but like I had said in my edit comments the Tevez article has ran for a sufficiently long time without stating it inside the info box, infact it has been a very long time and bar a slight editor dispute back in August 2010 where it was removed by user User:PeeJay2K3. The statememnt "Loan" in the infobox has not appeared without contest since way back in 2008 when he was a United player, and during this time I noticed you have made a few edits without inserting "Loan" back into the infobox. At the time I monitored the discussion but didn't join in, but as the conversation burned out back in 2008 the article continued to run without "Loan" and hasn't been re-buffed until last month. Though I understand it is a strange situation I think the article looks better without listing it inside the box as it looks like he was on loan from West Ham, and its not exactly neccesary to put MSI in the info box. If you disagree please feel welcome to open a new discussion on the talk page but forcing it back on to the page without discussing it is really changing the direction of the way the article has been running for the last 3 or so years, and I am sure it will be contested by other users. I think this a complex situation which the Infobox cannot cope with and there is no drive to do anything about it. As it stands it looks like he was signed by Man U which is equally as wrong as looking like he was on loan from West Ham. I have always found that many people fail to get their heads around the financial dealings and contractual issues which concern Tevez. I only mention it because you added "There's a Ghost in My House", which came out on V.I.P. in the US and Tamla Motown in the UK. I don't mind what the decision is, but we need to be consistent. I see there is no Category:Tamla Records - so, I suppose the clearest thing to do would be to make clear in the lead of the Category page that it applies to all records released by the Motown Records company - including those on its subsidiary labels - rather than just those on the Motown label itself. Pretty sure there were no singles released on just 'Motown' in the UK and all categorised were on Tamla Motown with TMG catalogues nos from March 1965. Previous material from Berry Gordy's stable of labels was released in the UK on London, Fontana, Oriole and Stateside. Having a category for Tamla Motown singles seems like overkill to me especially as the UK market only had Tamla Motown. Possibly, though I'm not keen to split up the existing category (I'm not that crazy about categories anyway!) Anyway, for the time being I've added a brief explanation at Category:Motown singles, to the effect that the category should include all those records released by (or on behalf of) the Motown company, rather than just those released on the Motown or Tamla Motown labels themselves. Hi EH. I'd been admiring your user page, & copying from it the Template:User Wikipedian for. But the latter, it seems to me (I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm mistaken), shows a default, if used without parameters.

The default seems set to show time elapsed since 31 Dec. 2005, i.e. (when looked at today) "5 years, 11 months and 8 days". My source for that is here.

So, when I copied it to my own user page, I supplied the parameters from my own first contribution.

Then - & some may say rather cheekily (or being bold?) - I took the liberty of applying the same principle to your page (I know I shouldn't really, but I didn't think you'd mind).

It is neither vandalism nor a test edit, and the policy page you link to carries the implication that the edit being reverted was done in bad faith, the summary reads "Intentionally making abusive edits to Wikipedia will result in a block." Hi I hope this is the right way to reply to you, took me ages to find. We have been using the picture that appears on Daily Mail page. When we phoned the picture editor at the daily mail to check permissions we were told that if we could download it on internet then we could use it. I don't know where they got it but it is the one we are using a lot at the moment. It is the picture of kaos on the Daily Mail link on the article.

Anyway that is our picture of choice at the moment for obvious reasons!

Woah. I had all good intention. Look at the page history next time. I created the article before I found your damn sandbox and the reason I found it was because of google. Google gives you wikipedia sandboxes as well. So when I found it I looked at it and found some more interesting things about Lee that could be properly be added to the page and I added it. At the same time I felt sorry because at that moment I realized that you wanted to create the article but I had done it before you so I gave you credit for the extra information. THAT IS ALL.

Removing a picture because of copyright issues is fair enough, although I did try (unsuccessfully) to credit the source. However, the obsession with timestamps is absolutely irrational. What is so difficult to understand or accept about "match played (example) 23 Dec"? There is no need to document the specific second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade in which you edited a page. This isn't difficult. Firstly I am conforming to the style which has been adopted by consensus by fellow editor - see Template:Infobox football biography. Secondly it is not one of my priorities but if a style has been adopted and I agree with it I conform. If I don't agree I ignore it and don't go near that area when editing as to do otherwise is considered disruptive. Continually going against the style for timestamps is such behaviour - hence 'people' being blocked for doing so . As I have stated to you before, how easy is it to replace the date with five of these '~' when we know the figures in the box are correct. Quicker than typing a date and has been set-up for our convenience. Not for me to tell other editors what to do but maybe let this one go and improve the articles on Irish footballers. You obviously are interested in this subject. Adding well referenced narrative helps. No whitespace is created when the photo is moved to the right, and I still feel that this is the best place for it because it improves readability. Due to a lack of response, I have moved the image back to the right side of the page. In my opinion the page reads much better with images on the right, and as far as I can tell wikipedia's manual of style agrees with me (see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images#Forced_left_justification). I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Kingshook Kindergarten. You nominated it under the A7 criterion, but there it actually specifically states that educational institutions are exempt from that criterion. Since A7 is not an appropriate venue for deleting this article, I would suggest using WP:PROD or WP:AFD to proceed for notability reasons. You are welcome to nominate the article for deletion using WP:AFD. Thank you for removing the random and mostly unreferenced long list of covers for this song. I fully support WP guidelines that song articles should provide basic information in a quick and easy-to-read fashion. They shouldn't be used for sprawling long lists of unsourced content.

There is another thing that i would like to hear your opinion about. Many song articles have a list of artists who recorded and/or released a cover version of the song. A simple who/when/what release list. Most of those covers don't have "discussion by a reliable sourse" at all, however the covers section still exist. And they are quite usefull if i would like to know more about the song and it's history. If i'm following your logic this all have to be cut and you have to find the list of cover yourself anywhere else. Take a look at John O'Shea's page. Locked because I updated it correctly every week and it still has 31 August 2013 down as his last match. Get your priorities in check. I am not vandalising anything. Putting 21 September as the date of a match that happened on 21 September is not vandalising and is surely preferable to having a timestamp that is months out of date.

All of this is clearly done out of spite anyways. As I said, you only come crawling out of the woodwork after I update a page. Loads of other pages are incorrect and have borderline litigious information written on them. Just to let you know that the Picture Difford.Chris_Sept2013.jpeg for Chris Difford's Wiki page has had approval sent by the author/photographer, Grace this morning. I like working with you on our rivalry article. I'd say we should push for it to get good article status, but we'd need to reference the hell out of it and not everything on the page can be referenced, even if it is a fact (ie, it's not on the web and can't be linked to - we'd lose a lot of the results and stats sections.) The history section needs a big overhaul too, to cover the entire history. Weirdly, for one of the most vitriolic rivalries in the world, there's very few great sources! When I made that full list of results list, I sourced nearly everything from Millwall: The Complete Record by Eddie Tarrant, which had just come out and was officially endorsed by the club and their historians. I checked against that West Ham stats site, and both listed the same exact results, yours was incomplete tho. Didn't include Western League (that 17 9 1906 game was WL - pg 276, and you're right. a SL game was played on that same date in 1904 - pg 272.) I'd really like to get the exact date of the first ever friendly meeting. I couldn't find anything earlier than that FA Cup tie in 1899 for competitive games. The 1897 friendly I found was from a West Ham source, which I cannot seem to refind! It's funny because a couple of newspapers have published stuff we've put on the wiki as fact, so obviously they're not as fussy about their references as us. You cannot seriously expect to add material without citing sources or to have someone do it for you and that is no joke. Have to say I admire your tenacity. My problem with these things is that they are subjective. Reviewer A says don't like this. So you change it and reviewer B says, no don't like that. That is crazy, but then I think half of these reviewers are crazy with their differing opinions! If you have a players section/database in your books, we just need page references for Bowes, Landells, Reader, Philips and Stewart (I added the Millwall side for most of those.) If the books are already in the bibliography, use the short cite thing. It's much easier. And only if he doesn't like the Sporting Heroes reference, Goddard and Gordon. Another Wiki oddity then as there are many who say tabloid refs (which includes the Mail) should not be used as they are unreliable - Oh well! If we didn't have tabloid stuff, half the article would be gone! Yeah, Reader is annoying. He only played one game for us in 61-62, but it was first-team so he's in the book. If he was in any of those newspaper clippings on that site, could've cited that as the work, but he's only mentioned in the user written parts. Oh well! Cheers for that! I can't see any 'dubious' refs at all now, only the fans survey opinion and the one for the programme, but I can't find that photo anywhere else online. It'd be rubbish to have to remove that. We satisfied one of the three head honchos, Ian Rose and then the other one just shows his head and shuts it down out of nowhere. Don't quite understand it. Especially as one of the phrases he changed was suggested by a reviewer. How do you satisfy such subjectiveness?! The source reviewer Brian also has his Profumo affair article promoted to FA very quickly and doesn't complete the rest of our review (in over a week). I asked him to just now. There's rules on how many articles you can nominate and in what timespan, but as a heavy contributor to the article, I think you qualify to nominate. Just have to wait for the FAC thing to be gone from the talkpage. Just stating it may needs minor tweaks to the prose and the finished source review. I mean, cmon. The article is almost spotless! Yes, "errors remain". He doesn't respond to my diplomatic approach and ask for his help at identifying the errors, but gives a reply to some other guy who is a regular in the featured articles clique. Hardly encouraging for first time nominators. Seemed just like an excuse to archive it. There are no major issues with the article. A few words here and there that could be worded better, granted, but he could've pointed those out like every other reviewer. We didn't fail at any of their four criteria for closing an article. "Actionable objections have not been resolved" - you can't resolve objections that only exist in the coordinators head. He pointed one out, which you fixed promptly. I'm no dunce either, but am much better at creative English. I find it hard to write like an encyclopedic robot as they require. I believe we, and the other reviewers managed to weed out most of the 'football speak' they hate. Looking at other featured articles they like big words and a lot of ; and :. I tried to tighten the history section, but Graham is right. We are too close to the source material and need a fresh pair of eyes to do a proper job. We only need minimal changes. Do you know anyone in the english football portal that might help? Mattythewhite types, who you see editing every football page. I am more than happy to explain my reasoning. Within the West Ham United article you will see a link to West Ham United F.C. supporters. Within this there is this. All the notable names are here so rather than fill up the West Ham article (from which some of these names were originally moved) there is an article dedicated to supporters. The song only just by the thinnest measure meets notability guidelines, but as the guidelines state this alone isn't enough to warrant a standalone article when there is virtually zero information of any significance in the article. You criticize me for "adding nothing" but what have you added? Looks like nothing from my point of view. If you make a change on a page and it is reverted (with an explanation) can you please discuss it on the talk page rather than just reverting. WP:BRD sums this up. The 'Greatest Hits' album that you decided was a compilation is an album recorded and released in 1972 and produced wholly by Prince Buster. Roots Archives is a much better source for reggae albums than discogs.com and it is not listed there as a compilation. It happens in stages!. As the article says "Doneil Henry is about to join". He has not yet joined. He has had a work permit granted and West Ham's manager says it is all going to plan. However, the transfer window does not open until 1/1/15 and thus he has not completed the move just yet. Plenty of time to add back in with sources when/if he does. Hi, Quick question re above category. Does this apply to those born before the creation of the GLC/GLA (1965) in those areas which fell within its authority thereafter? For example David Payne, born in Thornton Heath (1947), then, Croydon Corporation (not LCC) now, part of London Borough of Croydon. I added the Cat. but then thought it may not be right. Thanks. Hi, I think this whole area is in a bit of a mess. Footballers have been added into categories for places which did not exist in their lifetimes but where their birthplace is now in the new area quoted. e.g Category:Footballers from Newham (London borough) where East Ham was in Essex but now in Newham. I have been adding players into the category for the place where their birthplace is now. Others don't agree and the categories are up for deletion/merge (like the one given above).
