Oman National Football Team

edit

The new Oman adidas jersey can not be officially called Oman's new jersey, because all the matches in which the new kit was played in were in friendly matches.

I think you need to get out more. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.139.162.137 (talk) 16:03, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

2000 Football League Second Division playoff final

edit

Hiya Chris, quick question for you. As per this discussion and also the sources in the article itself, I was wondering if you would mind me doing a page move on 2000 Football League Second Division playoff final so that playoff is hyphenated (play-off)? I think consistency within the play-off articles would be worthwhile. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 12:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Screen size

edit

I just had to widen my browser window to cope with all the accolades at the top of your user page... many more and I'll need a new monitor. Quite astonishing really. I think it's been a very productive year on the footy project generally as well... maybe we should have an awards night like on the Beeb, I think you'd win a few. I hope you stick with it in 2009 anyway. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 19:09, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi - the link to Livesey's obituary on the "Gills-Mad" website is now broken - is there any chance you know how to fix it? Cheers. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that - I already had the Brighton Obit, so I'll delete the Gills one. Cheers. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:39, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Leo Fortune-West

edit

Hi there, could you possibly tell me how many appearances and goals were scored by Leo Fortune-West and in what competitions in the 1995–96 season for Gillingham from one of your books, as Soccerbase just cuts off by then? Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 19:47, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Peer review for List of number-one singles from the 1990s (UK)

Tony Cascarino

edit

Hey Chris, just thought I'd say well done for doing such a great job on the gills page (it seems to mainly have been you making it!). Also thought you might be interested to know this tenuous fact (I have not been stalking you, promise!).... I'm assuming the picture of Cascarino on his page is actually cropped from the one of you and him. Anyway a band I like called Los Campesinos have a bit of a thing about Cascarino apparently, and in the booklet for their last album (We are beautiful, We are Doomed) they had some poetry and sketches from indie people/bands like Grandaddy. Anyway one of the "sketches" is just a drawing of the picture of cascarino from his wikipedia with his stats beneath. Essentially your photo has been internationally published in a collection of artwork! Giveitallforcheese (talk) 20:36, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Surely not! I hadn't looked at your user page before I posted the last, but we share some common interests ... I live in Kent*, listen to folk music, and follow Gillingham FC*. *although the asterisked things have only applied for a few months! Do tell me where you listen to live folk music in Kent, if you do. I live in Chatham. William McGregor

edit

I was going to post on the peer review, but about my only comment on the article content was that the lead could do with being more than one paragraph; the only other thing is trying to find any other sources to fill in gaps. I did find one unusual one: according to p42 of [2], "[McGregor] is listed as the honorary treasurer of the Baseball Association of Great Britain and Ireland in a book about baseball published in England in 1891". Premier League seasons

edit

Hi Chris, I was wondering whether you'd be willing to help me with my mission to clean-up the Premier League (English) season articles because at the moment they are all over the place. Can you let me know here on my talkpage. I asked PeeJay but he said he didn't have time at the moment. Thanks. 03md (talk) 17:09, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

IMO, the results tables are fine as they are commonplace for the historical articles for La Liga, Serie A etc - why do you believe they should go? For the 2002-03 season, when they were added people input only a few teams results and I actually added them for the remaining 16 teams. You're right about the individual team reviews - I think the best thing to do about those is to add any important info to the team's season page (if one exists). Regarding the plan for the pages, I think it is best to each focus on different articles - which ones would you prefer to do because I have lots of materials for 2002-03 and some of the later seasons. 03md (talk) 12:12, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Great, I'll continue with 2002-03 then. My point about the results tables is that one is used in this season's article so there shouldn't be a problem, but it would be best to check. 03md (talk) 12:22, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
PeeJay said that we should include an overall review rather than cutting out text completely. He also recommended watching some of th Premiership Years programmes on Sky Sports because they might help with writing the review. 03md (talk) 16:38, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

List of number-one singles...

edit

As well as doing the Premier League articles, I decided to follow your lead and create a more detailed page for the UK number one singles from the 2000s. In the "By artist" table for the 1990s, did you include people who have had multiple no. 1s in a collaboration (e.g. Timbaland in the 2000s with Give It To Me, The Way I Are, 4 Minutes etc.) as a separate artist or leave them out if they did not have a solo number 1? Would you mind checking through the efforts I have made so far. Thanks. 03md (talk) 18:26, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for all your comments Chris. I have added another note to the review page about the source for the main table. I have addressed all your ideas. Cheers. 03md (talk) 19:13, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:KingstonianAmateurCup.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:KingstonianAmateurCup.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:36, 19 January 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.35.108 (talk) 15:36, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kala

edit

I've started a review of your GA nomination for Kala. It's a really nice article, and I've made my comments. I might add some more things to fix up as it goes along, but there's more then enough to clean up for now. Cheers! Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:01, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Great job! I passed Kala. The article is a good and interesting read. For any future reference, citing the album linear notes is a perfectly fine thing to do. Again, great job! Andrzejbanas (talk) 13:05, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dan Cunliffe

edit

Hi - this one's a bit of a long shot. In my quest to fill in the gaps for England players, I have created an article on Dan Cunliffe who spent a large part of his career at Portsmouth. My reference books indicate that he played for New Brompton, presumably after Pompey. Are you able to add anything to the article? Cheers. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:51, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images for football kits

edit

Hi,

Regarding this edit summary: I'm actually in agreement about this. Moving the image-based versions into the infobox was a stop-gap measure to check if the auto-categorisation I've added to {{infobox national football team}} works, which it does. This should hopefully be added to the club infobox template shortly as well. If you want to keep track of articles which use images for kits, you can now follow category:football team templates which use images.
